FINALLY!!! Answers and Solutions
Finally!!!! I believe the information in this book has answered just about every "Why?" question I've had over the last 25 years. And is actually helping me.I've struggled with too much weight and no energy for years and years. Every symptom of Hypothyroidism but without the test results to merit any help. Was a happy size 6 until my last baby. Then boom! Fat city - Nothing I've done since then has helped me lose weight or keep it off. And no doctors or "wellness" professionals have helped. At all. I was blamed with overeating (not even close) and made to believe the weight was my fault. I've been calorie restricted for years just so I don't get bigger. I ate "right" as best I knew how, and exercised regularly. If I lost weight I'd get overwhelming cravings for foods that simply (quicky, easily) put weight back on, in literally a day or two. Crazy.I've tried just about every supplement and eating plan there is, spent thousands of dollars, with ZERO success ... until now.The resistance thing (and/or the body storing fat for no apparent reason) is hormones and chemistry, sure. Things beyond my control, no good solid research or studies, etc, etc. But just try what's in this book!! Personally, I was at my wits end but then dove in to this plan 100%If it was a vicious cycle of foods, stress and no sleep that put on the weight in the first place; messing up my chemestry and hormones along the way, then this healthy eating cycle is certainly helping to take it off.No quick fixes - I was willing to put in the work... one more time, not giving up, sticking with this eating plan. So far I have not been disappointed.I didn't even have withdrawals or attitude ... I just felt fantastic from day 1. Energy comes and goes, but I have some now (!!), I feel more clarity in the things that used to stress me out, ZERO cravings for sweets or carbs (other than foods in the plan), and my heartburn went away. Best of all... I AM LOSING WEIGHT!! Real weight. Fat. Going bye bye. My body composition changes for the better almost every day. And I feel better physically and emotionally. Optimistic. Happy even. The food is amazing. Simple to prepare and cook when I slow down and take a minute. It's not inexpensive like the book says, but it's definitely worth it.There are probably newer things like avocado oil vs olive, and unsweetened almond milk, but it all still works even if it's a teeny bit dated. And yes - follows an anti inflammatory diet, but it's also so much more with the meals and flavors... Learning to mix and match foods to taste good and make it more of an experience and not a struggle or compromise. It incorporates things I would never eat otherwise, like almonds, walnuts, flaxseed, sesame seed.... Very important foods for nutrition and health... for weightloss and hopefully balancing out all those things that messed me up in the first place. It also focuses on a healthy gut (biome). A healthy gut is craving healthy whole foods. An unhealthy gut will keep craving unhealthy and processed foods, as I've already experienced. It's an easy positive read. Short examples and real life stories I found encouraging. I skipped some parts that didn't interest me. There's an index in the back to find specific info or points of interest. There are food lists, daily menus, recipes and shopping lists.I'll follow up as time goes on if there's anything new or different. But I'm still on a roll with positive results and plan to eat this way for life. :)Ps. Not a proponent of any sort of bread or processed food, but the point is to get some whole grains. For example, whole grain bread is better than no grains at all. I'm gluten free due to an allergy so I eat quinoa, wild rice and sometimes oats. Ezekiel bread is a decent choice if you need a toasted sandwich (not gluten free).

I've lost 16 lbs. so far. It works.
I've lost 16 lbs. so far. If you could get an appointment with a famous Harvard-trained doctor who had a phenomenal record of success in helping anyone lose weight--based on all the latest research. And if it would cost you less than $25--and you would be guarantied to lose weight and stay thin for the rest of your life. Would you take the appointment? If yes, buy this book and follow the advice. I did and you can track my progress below. I eat only the recommended foods and enjoy them very much. And I am so happy not to be starving, or filling my body with "heaven-know's-what's-in-these?" pills, herbal concoctions, or shakes--which, when I stop buying them, I know I'm going to have the same weight problem in 6 months. This is a way of eating that can last you your whole life long. If you are familiar with "SuperFoods", then those same (natural) foods are what you'll be eating in this eating plan...with some very interesting additions. If you don't mind eating healthy foods that have been around since almost the beginning of time--and ignoring every food that was "invented" in the 20th century and that has a catchy name (Tostitos!)--then try this and follow it exactly for one month and watch the weight loss occur. You will never look back. If by chance it doesn't work for you, then it likely means you need to attend to the psychological or physical stressors that hammering your body/life and preventing your body from working as it is designed to. If so, I sincerely recommend looking into EFT as the best way to deal with that. This will be my last post, until I hit my weight loss goal of 30 lbs. which should come in early December, I'm guessing. The comments I've posted since I began eating this way are below.40 days 16 lbs lost. This is effortless. I am never hungry because I eat whenever I feel like it.30 days 13 lbs. lost...this has included two vacations where I weathered lots of meals where I was forced to make hard food choices that would have crushed me with any other way of eating. With this method of eating I had no problems at all. In fact, I lost 3 lbs. on my last vacation. This is the real deal--finally a way of eating that focuses on good foods that requires zero calorie counting--and does what it is supposed to do--lose weight--even for a 50 something person with a slow metabolism.15 days 8 lbs. lost14 days in and I've lost 7 lbs. and my body is clearly in weight loss mode. I still love the food choices. I would have lost more, I think, but I spent 5 days at a resort that had an incredible desert buffet and I couldn't help myself from tasting. I otherwise ate the foods recommended at the resort and didn't gain any weight! Interestingly, I've stopped eating nearly as much food--stop at one serving at dinner, where I always had two. Also, I crave all the foods that I'm eating and have lost my cravings for any foods (cheese, sweets) that used to be my downfall. Everything that the book says would happen is happening.6 days into the diet and have lost 4 pounds. I love it because it's a simple list of approved foods. Haven't been hungry and have had more energy...which has turned my normal 4 mile walks (which never helped me lose weight) into 3 miles of jogging a day. I do like to eat greens and vegetables and fruits, so I've had no trouble taking to this way of eating. I like the idea that I will have a way of eating that I can easily sustain without thinking about it. I'll write more as time goes on

good and bad
too much food - not used to eating soup, entree, salad & desserts every night. an older attitude toward fat. too much prep for each meal. I didn't lose as much as promised. however, I gave it four stars because there is some good information and we really liked some of the recipes. It was also fun eating a greater variety of food. Also, it got me into using lots of herbs, cherry concentrate, pomegrante juice for marinades - and this is a good thing. Just didn't like a lot of the meals as they had tofu, eggplant, peppers, cheese & eggs - all of which make me sick. It is supposed to be an anti-inflammatory diet but aren't peppers and eggplant inflammatory? My wife is a chef and she helped me with prepping all the food on sunday for the week, and that helped, but still it turned out to be too much work.I found that I had just as much luck with waiting 5-6 hours between breakfast and lunch; 12 hours between dinner and breakfast; eating healthy, non processed food; limiting carbs and sugar. This is easier for me than trying to follow the book's exact meal plan.

Game Changer!
This book is a game changer! I came across it through a very roundabout route via a book called "Unlocking the Keto Code" by Steven Gundry. Since I'm here to review this book, I'll say no more about that one (also on Amazon). The book introduced me to leptin, inflammation and anti-inflammation chemicals which cause leptin resistance, which in turn results in weight gain and obesity. That's science. Discovering this connection got me off the diet roller coaster forever. I'm borderline obese, I need to go on a diet, I find one that's supposed to work, I lose some weight, I go off the diet, I regain the weight and then some, I need to go on a diet...ad infinitum..ad nauseum.Knowing that inflammation causes weight gain, I've cut out junk food, buy the foods that fight inflammation and the weight comes off. After researching time restricted eating, I've combined that with the meal plans in this book and the weight comes off even faster. I no longer count calories, carbs, fats, or proteins. I just find out how much of a food is considered one portion, weigh or measure it out and stick to it.I would most definitely recommend this life-changing book to everyone.

Feel completely satisfied while dieting
This is the best diet book I have ever had. The first part is all the science behind the diet. Then the diet itself is broken down into 3 parts. The first part is a 2 week jump start, the second is until you reach your target weight, and the third part is maintenance. Each section has meal plans, recipes, and a shopping list. The diet provides for a huge variety of foods and lots of it.
