Gemsli Elegance, 16" Nylon Half Slip With Novelty Lace

I am a size 26, so I ordered this slip in a size 3x, which is, in most plus sized clothing lines, somewhere between a 22-26. When I received it, the label read 3x/18! I have NEVER found a size 18 to be designated a 3x in any other plus sized clothing line. 18 might be an XL or an XXL. So, I couldn't even pull this thing on. I live overseas, so the cost of postage is too expensive for me to bother returning this. Into the charity bin it goes.

Excellent quality slip for the money! I needed a slip with a little body to wear under a vintage dress and this fit the bill. The fabric is a little heavier than most nylon tricot slips so it helps give fullness to my skirt. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the wide lace goes all the way around the hem. It also washes well. I will be buying more of these in other lengths.

Women in my age group wouldn't think of not wearing a slip under a dress or skirt. Yet when I go to stores, often they don't stock slips at all. If they do, they're flimsy and much too short. My Gemsli slip is a revelation. It was a splurge, but worth every penny. It's soft to the touch, but strong. The lace detail is beautiful. I ordered one in black to see if I liked the quality and appearance. I'll be ordering more Gemsli slips.

The slip is made of a nice weight nylon. The embroidery is very fine (in the sewing sense of "fine"). The lace is heavy, soft and nicely scalloped. Unfortunately, the product's waist is small to the point of being tight and the fabric is skimpy over the hips. Order one or two sizes larger than you ordinarily wear and it will no doubt fit properly. (The item is made in China, which might account for its poor fit. Otherwise the quality of the garment is appropriate.)

So hard to find a nice half slip. This one works, although the fabric isn't as nice as I would have hoped. The lace is lovely. Haven't worn it yet, but will keep it simply because I haven't found another one. Macy's, Dillard's nor Kohl's have a nice one.

I had originally ordered the taupe Gemsli 28" half slip in a large because I wear a large in some other brands. I liked the fabric & the color but it was too big in the waist. I reordered it in a medium. The fabric is thinner and the color is lighter. I would call it beige, not taupe. Also it is about an inch shorter. It fits perfectly in the waist, so I'm keeping it. It still serves my purpose. I returned the large size slip.

I bought this to wear under my fit-and-flare style wedding wedding gown and it worked perfectly. I was looking to create a uniform color underneath the dress because the gown was made of a lighter fabric and appeared more white in the areas where my undergarments were showing through. This slip is a medium-weight fabric so it is less see-through than other slips I tried, and the lace on the bottom is pretty. I'm 5'4" and this 22" slip would be too long for any other dress or skirt that is knee-length or above, so just be aware of the length you are ordering. The shape of this slip is an A-line as opposed to a more "pencil-skirt fit" but it still works under my fitted dress and I am happy with the purchase.

There was nothing wrong with the product. It is a great little slip. I should've bought a size longer. however, it has gone through several several machine washes (never drying in the dryer, only air drying) and it still looks as good as the day it arrived.

The color is a little brighter than the picture suggested (at least on my screen): it's not taupe so much as cream/beige/nude.

Bought as a gift. She was very pleased. She said its fits as expected and had very nice material , lace and comfortable. Only drawback was another import from China.

Except for being just a little longer than I expected; the slip fits well and I like the lacy bottom edge, very feminine.

High quality slip, no static, perfect.

Nice half slip! After scouring stores and sites online (to find that half slips have become hard to find), I finally thought to check Amazon. So glad I did!
