The Sacred Ifa Oracle (English and Yoruba Edition)

Is a bummer there’s no index to refer to, but I love the book as a reference. I’ve had the pleasure to have met Philip Neimark when he was alive and spend time at their retreat. I’m happy I’ve purchased this book.

Their are,quite allot of materials that,can not be gotten in certain areas,material.Other than that,in conversation with those who practice Ifa tradition,it is worth the time to read these works of Odu ,The English translation is the best,opposed to Bascom,with salako interrpetations,some methods of usage of certain item is very good account according to some ,in conversation does it work I am not the one to ask...as some would say it is very clever ,and clean way of using spiritual application,It concepts of benevolent & malevolent ,and how to stay clear of such aggressive forces and how to maintain good graces is wonderfuly written.

A good book to obtain a general orientation of the basics on how a Babalawo works or how an IFA reading takes place. It gives 2 verses for each Odun. Yet, it lacks a table of contents & unless you know the Oduns orders it will be time consuming to find them.

No table of contents which makes it difficult to look up specific odus. Pages looked photocopied. Not sure all content of odus represented. Pages are not secured so that shortly they will detach from book.

Excellent book, it covers very important topics in Yoruba religion. Co-written by a Nigerian babalawo, it gives a serious insight to the ancient Yoruba traditions and cosmovision

two years ago I bought this book, and at first I didn't know what to do with it. I just put it away, because I didn't understand what it was all about.Since a while I am learning the Divination with the Opele and now the book enfold his secrets to me. I was amazed, but I must say I am glad I bought it.

This is a great price for the quality. I found it in the middle of my work week browsing on amazon and found a great deal...a classic book already!

I was very disappointed with the quality of the book. It appeared to be a photocopy with pages not being even and very poor print.I am afraid I had to return the copy.
