Almonds will break it
I've been using this to grind my daily Almond intake for a month now. Sadly, it finally broke. The rotating teeth separated from the crank. I liked using it. The unit had charm. I had to grip it solidly and use finger leverage to make it work, though. If I get another one, I will only use it for softer nuts like Walnuts for example. My search for an Almond grinder continues.

Piece of junk - won't chop nuts and hard to clean
After reading mixed reviews I decided to give this chopper a try, as my last one was plastic and broke after a few years of use. I like that this one is glass and stainless steel, as it appeared sturdier. In actuality, the top metal part barely fits onto the glass jar, the handle is tiny and difficult to turn, and it was not able to chop almonds whether I put them into the metal part (so they would chop into the glass jar) or as some other reviewers suggested, put them into the glass jar (so they would chop and fall out of the metal chute). Both methods were epic fails - the flimsy blades were almost getting bent by the almonds. After all that I decided to return it, and it was awful to clean it just to get it ready to send back as the blades trapped a bunch of nut pieces that I had to use the tip of a knife to remove.Do NOT recommend trying this product!

The grinder works well
It is over priced for what it is but my wife likes it. I grind while watching sports. LOLI have an electric grinder but it makes dust. LOL I like this one because it is small pieces. It is good for sprinkling on cakes etc. My wife puts the ground walnuts on her morning cereal. Why? Who know. Health nut. LOLWorks better than the other 2 I have. DO not over fill top. Nuts need room to bounce around to get the right angle. Do not pack tightly. A few at a time works great. Recommended item

Difficult to use
It is hard to get the nuts to actually go down to where the tines are. Just turning the handle, the tines push the nuts up out of the way.The hopper is also very small, so you have to do quite a few 'loads' of nuts to get a decent amount ground. The top also does not screw easily onto the jar, the threads are a little off or something. The jar seems pretty sturdy, but the metal part does not.Would not recommend.

Excellent grinder!
I have the original nut grinder which belonged to my Husbands Grandmother. I use it ALL THE TIME and love it. The teeth started breaking and I did not want to ruin it so I purchased many others like it that did not hold up as well nor did it perform well...until I purchased this item. This works just as well as the original. The teeth are very strong...I have not bent or broken one yet! I love this thing and use it often. Nice product as god as the classic!

Cute but difficult to use
You almost need three hands to be able to use this. One hand to hold it still, one hand to turn the crank, and one hand to push the nuts into the grinder. The grinder tines are very short so the nuts want to pop out and let the tines turn beneath them. You really do have to push them in pretty hard. Using a gripper pad on the counter can help it stay still, and if you push down hard it will stay in place while you turn the handle. Quite disappointing.
