Proline GMS80A Conductor Sheet Music Stand

All musicians know that dilemma of having to choose between a "permanent" stand and a flimsy fold-up stand when taking the show on the road. Manhassets are the dominant brand for heavy, on-stage stands, but they are not easy to carry from place to place. Recently, plastic fold-ups have come on the market as well as a number of metal take-apart, fold-up stands. I chose the ProLine GMS80A as my traveling stand about two years ago.ProLine is not light. That's a drawback for carrying. But the weight makes it a serious stand for holding the music and to ensure stability in most conditions. Its folding legs and collapsing stand sections mean easy storage in the car's trunk. The platform is solid and large, able to handle three unfolded pages with little trouble. The lip is nicely deep, so music is never in danger of falling off. The finish is hard and durable, despite the usual banging my stand takes in its travels. Finally, ProLine is priced below the more expensive Nilton, yet for me offered all that I wanted. An excellent stand for all purposes.

Bought 3 of these. Shortly after that, the part on the inside of the frame that holds on the head fell out and was lost. Now the head doesn't lock into place, but it's still functionable.

This stand does everything perfectly, except hold my music sturdy in any way. Constantly drooping, and the book shelf is ridiculously useless and hard to tighten. AVOID this stand like the plague.

I ordered both this and the manahasset stand for my daughter and me. the proline stand is super sturdy, easy to assemble and adjust. although the other stand is also good I believe that the proline stand is superior in terms of durabilty

I have been having this stand for 8 months. I'm a working musician,this stand gets taken apart a least 3 times a week. All the locks hold tight. Quick release locks also a must for me. This stand is very well made.

This music stand has proved to be sturdy and reliable, and it will hold up a whole notebook full of music. It folds up to fit into a medium-sized suitcase, along with my music and some props.

Wow this is so sturdy. If I need a 2nd one, I would definitely buy this again.
