Buying a second following 2 years with current.
Rarely write positive reviews, with the exception of product I feel is underrated. I installed this sub in basement wall. Installation was straight-forward with in-wall bracket really allowing you to torque the screws for a tight fit. I powered thus sub with a 2.1 channel amp ZK-TB21, which powers this sub with 100W and the bass is impressive and surprisingly hard-hitting. Buying a second now for my bedroom.

The best value in a subwoofer I could find. Really glad I went with the IWS8 for my project.
I bought several Rocket UFW-10 subwoofers back in 2005. They were really good, tight bass, not muddy at all. Well, the amps all went bad on the enclosures and I didn't have the heart to trash them. I thought about replacing the amps at first and looked for the right plate amplifier to replace the dead ones on the 3 UFW-10s but I couldn't justify the spend. I decided to leave them unpowered and started using them as my main front left/right woofers and as the sub for my PC. The UFW-10 connected to my PC goes through a soundbar and is powered by a 2 channel 100 watt amp. The bass just wasn't banging with the one channel so I stated looking at adding a second subwoofer to the setup instead of buying a new more powerful amp, cost/benefit and the cost was too high for a better amp. When I checked out the specs for the OSD IWS8 and the price I decided to give them a whirl. The IWS8 mounted perfectly in the UFW-10 and now it slams with the cheapo 100 watt amp on my PC. For just $100 more I decided to do the same hack to my front left/right speakers. I added some passive crossovers to the mains. I can't really vouch for mounting these in a wall. They may be missing a little on the low end but I can say that they compliment my old USW-10 speakers perfectly and at an unbeatable price point. I would recommend mounting them with some foam rubber around the lip as pictured.

Bracket is junk
Waited until my workout room was done and woofer was installed to rate it. First, the people saying it lacks deep base are wrong. If you want house shaking base get a big powered sub, this has much more thump than I’ll ever need.My big complaint is the mounting system, the bracket is poorly designed as stated in other reviews, I had to cut and modify it to get it to seal and not vibrate, I also suggest boxing it in the wall if possible, made a lot of difference.Lastly, remember you need to amplify it to get any base out of it, I got the cheap Fosi amp and it works great.Summary: very good deep base for wall mount sub but the install should be a lot less complicated, all of my other speaker have the flip ears that work great for inwall and in ceiling mounting, this should as well.

Impressive for the size and price
After a recent man cave renovation I had installed 6 8" In celling speakers which were lacking low end. I purchased 2 of these OSD Dual 8" Subwoofers to provide a more full sound. After installing both speakers 4 8" Subwoofers in combination with my previously installed 6 8" full range in celling speakers I am in no way disappointed. My man cave now doubles as a night club with some seriously thumping bass!

How to fix the rattle.
Its not as good as I thought it would be. The metal bracket is not the same as the one on the instructions but I've installed hundreds of in-wall devices and speakers so it was pretty obvious. The speaker is hooked up to a crown amp and doesn't seem to be that loud but its "ok" its good for the price and its hard to find nice in-wall speakers. The metal bracket sucks though and rattles no matter how tight I got it after awhile it would rattle so I tried to silicone the screws and the speaker all into place and let it setup for a few days and that aster a few more hours of movies then it was back to rattling....To fix the bracket rattling I used #8 2.5" sheet metal screws with a dab of silicone in the hole before you screw them in. They start to go in a little tight then just power through it and they will conform the crappy bracket/re-thread it. It has not rattled at all since.

Great all around sub
For an in wall sub-woofer this is a good one. I'm powering it with a Bash 500 amp. It has a nice smooth bass to it. It is not a blow your windows out sub, but it helps to fill in the lows nicely. I've used it for about a month now with movies and music. It has helped the overall sound quality of my system which is a yamaha v673 receiver with Outdoor Speaker Depot IW545 for left, center, right and MK850's for the two rears. The one thing that I have noticed is that the sheet rock around the sub is showing a few nail pops causing a bit of vibration with the sheet rock. I added some screws which has solved the problem so far. If your looking for a sub that has a nice clean and smooth bass this is a good pick. I'm not an audiophile, but just enjoy good sound.

Excellent for Home Audio
I bought 2 of these for my 7.2 setup and they absolutely thump with an inexpensive Fosi sub amp. Be wary of poor reviews from audiophile clowns who aren't happy unless they break the bank, as well as people who struggle to hook up simple audio equipment saying things like "they don't work" or "too weak" or "the sound has static." That's most likely user/install error not the fault of these subs, they sound great.
