I am probably a low intermediate pianist and play only for my own enjoyment. These are songs from my college-early adulthood days, as well as some from childhood. The arrangements make me feel like I am doing more than simply playing from a hymnal. Nothing complicated, but there are nice chords and additions which make the arrangements more pleasant than playing from a hymnal. I have a country book by this same publisher with similar types of arrangements. (I was disappointed in the special occasions religious book, though, so I am reluctant to order others in the series since the one with Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc songs was evidently arranged by a different person.) I wish the publisher would offer some "look inside" pages so I could more easily judge if books are what I want.

This is a great collection of those familiar gospel songs. This is a good transition for a learning student moving from level 3 to intermiate music.

I absolutely love this book, the songs are in very singable and playable keys. The arrangements are pretty chordal but there are some very pretty ones in here as well. I actually have checked this book out from the library a few times, and have already sung many of these songs at church as solos before it was due back. Every time I checked it out I found a new favorite, so I finally decided just to buy it. The songs are at an intermediate level with chords added if you prefer to play the "cheater" way. My FAVORITE song in this book is "Surely the Presence" it has two lovely verses that somehow I've never seen before.

This book contains many great gospel songs. I am a new guitar player (just learning) and this book contains songs that are too complicated for me right now. There are more than 5 chords in most songs with many changes within the songs (remember that I am new though, so someone with more expreience may not think this is alot). Although I am not able to play these now, I look forward to growing into these as I learn more. This will be a great book for me in the future and I would recommend it for someone who has been playing for a little while and knows more than just the basic chords.

if you like gospel and old gospel then this is the book for you. It is easy to play from and contains many of my favorites..Peace in the Valley, Take my Hand Precious Lord, Precious Memories, Mansion over the Hilltop to name a very very few. I have loved these songs for as long as I can remember. It was well packaged and arrived promptly. I would recommend this book to everyone that loves gospel and old gospel.

Book more worn than expected but playable. Assisted living & senior communities enjoy the songs.

this is my favorite book I like it the best of all the music books I've ordered, on my recommendation 2 other people have ordered it and they both like it, as much as I do.
