Have your Faux-Tato Chips, I'll have these Protein Chips, TY!
These arrived on June 7, 2018. My wife ordered these as part of the Keto "diet" but that is a misnomer. It is a lifestyle choice concerning food and nutritional intake. I was more than a tad skeptical about these and not particularly interested in the product-or for the fact that it seemed on the spendy side of things. However, going Keto and Organic/Non-GMO, grass fed, free range, multi-grains is more expensive too, but we found that this is not as much as one would think, because we've discovered that many of these whole or "wholer" foods are more filling and satisfying than the Franken-foods of highly processed food-like food products in grocery stores everywhere.Given that, set aside reservations because starting a new lifestyle of food intake means trying new things and obviously some will be a fail. We are not going to make this change a dreadful experience of subsisting on twigs and berries, we want to enjoy eating healthier without being "food NAZIs" about it. This is a caloric lifestyle, not a religion. So my wife ordered them to try and ended up really enjoying them, Naturally, I tried them too, agreed with her and that we will certainly order more. .What a pleasant surprise. These are actually very good in taste, texture and in nutritional aspects as well. Perhaps people here whining like Middle-schoolers expect a fat and chemical laden Lay's Potato Chip? Setting aside those who had damaged goods arrive (happens to all products) or matter of personal tastes (some people love Lay's Salt & Vinegar chips, others hate the taste). It seems to me that a good portion of these highly critical reviews are paid critics.Look at how many use the same title (i.e. "One Star") and the terms are overly repetitive. You will see this in movie reviews and the titillating praise over truly horrendous productions above and beyond your basic enthusiast that happens to love a movie most anyone else pans. These chips emulate "real" Potato Chips extremely well. They're not dusted with MSG and other indescribable, un-pronounceable flavorings that burst artificially onto one's tongue, so those accustomed to that may not be accustomed to more natural flavorings, but these do have a pleasant taste to them.My wife and I like to spread a little garlic and chives imbued Goat cheese on the chips (we warm it to make it more on the buttery side). it takes a little finesse but it's usually successful. :) just do this over a plate. I ma here to tell you that the crumbs are just as tasty and can be picked up with the butter knife with a little got cheese on it,Unlike industrialized, processed Faux-Tato Chips, these are actually satisfying and have nutritional value. We both Highly recommend these chips and intend on trying an additional flavors.

Actually pretty good. Great flavor and crunch. Not enough seasoning. UPDATE- New order more seasoned!
If you're not on a diet, well why are you buying these? Lol But really, if you aren't, you'll think they're gross. So let's assume you are like me and doing the low carb thing. I'm on a ketogenic diet so the lower the carbs, the better. I was really craving chips, and I try to avoid processed foods but I needed a crunch (and I don't eat pork skins) really badly, and also a snack for my office desk. So I bought these. A little pricey, but really the only potato free, grain free, maltodextrin/dextrose option I could find. Let me first say the flavor is great! Sour cream and cheddar just like those naughty chips you ate pre-diet. The crunch is also really nice. Yes, the chips are a tad "gritty," if you will, but I didn't mind because they are pretty darn close to a real chip. My only real complaint is that there's just not enough seasoning on these. The flavor is amazing but there is so little of it on the chips, which is disappointing. If they sprinkled about twice the flavoring on it, I'd be in keto heaven. So overall, 4/5 stars. Would buy again.UPDATE: I ordered these again, and they had much more cheesy seasoning on them, which made me so happy! Maybe I got a bad batch last time? I really love these. The more I eat them, the better they taste!!! Even my non-keto coworker liked them!

Updated review: OK I changed my mind, these are quite good! I don't know if they changed the recipe since I first tried them years ago but I recently picked up the 3 flavor variety pack and WOW! The chili lime is just the right kind of spicy and the nacho really hit the spot when I was craving a salty snack. There's a ton of flavor which I love. The chips can get pretty crumbly but I'm OK with that, that's where the flavor is.My original review is below. I've updated my rating from 3 stars to 4 and added these to my subscriptions!I'm sure my review will get buried among the tons of other reviews here but tossing my $0.02 into the abyss anyway.Let me just say: yuck. So far this is the third Quest chip flavor I've tried and this one is a huge disappointment. The actual chips are decent, chip-wise. They aren't Doritos replacements and shouldn't be considered as such. The consistency is kind of light and flaky with a good crunch, which is a nice surprise considering they're not the tortilla chips you may be used to. I was really pleased with this aspect. Now, on to the flavor. I can't quite convey how revolting the "Loaded Taco" flavor is so let me attempt to describe it thusly: soggy lettuce and grass clippings dusted with the stale chili powder spice you've had in the back of your cabinet since 2007.I dunno about y'all but that ain't how I load my tacos. They hit the spot for a crunchy, chip-like snack for a keto diet but the flavor leaves a lot to be desired, especially at this price point. I'd like to think some homemade cheese crisps dusted with taco seasoning could do the job better for a fraction of the price. Are these a decent, low carb vessel for keto dips and sauces? Sure, if you ignore the flavor I guess. But isn't flavor a big reason why you'd buy these in the first place? For me it was, hence why I can't in good faith rave about these. It's great keto folks have options but come on, Quest, you can do better than this.
