User-friendly and...Uplifting!
I found Ron Kaufman's book to be perfectly aligned with the service-challenged times we live in.First, Ron does an exquisite job of melding carefully documented real-world examples with a refreshing touch of self-motivation. That is, be all you can be through the service of others. A compelling charge that carries benefit not only to the reader but any organization on the receiving end of such an initiative.Second, Ron's thoughtful approach provides a clear and workable blueprint that can be easily implemented, measured and expanded upon. He takes the complex and cooks it down to a memorable path that leads to actionable directives. To make the book further flow are the well-placed observations from his friend, Todd Nordstrom who visits Ron in Singapore and, throughout the book experiences a number of service related "ah-ha's!" first hand that help reinforce key points.Uplifting Service is truly user-friendly due to Ron Kaufman's ability to integrate no-nonsense business strategies with true-life problem-solving situations and stories that effectively segue with "above and beyond" winning service. In short, this book is a joy to read as well as experience. Highly recommended!

An inspiring read
I ordered a kindle edition of Uplifting Service. It is an excellent read. They should be giving copies away on airplanes. People would get off in a better frame of mind with aspirations to grasp new tools as well as a heightened ability to recognize when things are good.

Immediately Humbling
When it comes to service-oriented books about making customers happy and being better as an organization, the competition is high. There are articles, case studies, CEOs, stances on the situation, and, of course, books. But, there are few books that are dedicated to defining the service industry with understandable definitions and concrete, granular, steps for improvement. Uplifting Service is that book. Similar to the way that Adam Grant's book "Give And Take" makes you think about yourself and about how you can be and do better, Ron Kaufman's Uplifting Service makes you look at your organization and question where you stand on service and what you need to do to improve. Once you've sufficiently identified where you are and how you feel about service, he walks you through how to think about improving. It's a humbling book to read and one that as soon as you finish it want to read through again to capture all of your notes.

A key to business success
Excellent book. As a business and executive coach I have to look at the key things to make businesses successful. Even more than customer service, giving good service to everybody (not just customers) is a highly leveraged way to success. Ron Kaufman's book on uplifting service captures that vision and shows you how to get it done. I have bought the book for every one of my clients, and even some people who are not my clients. I was asking one of them yesterday about the book and they said they are using it as their key vision going forward. I had originally sent him the Kindle version because that's what he prefers, but he just ordered the hardcover on his own so he can go through it and highlight the areas that are most important to him.Definitely a key read for anybody in business and really a good read for anybody who has to deal with people - which is all of us.

How to Meet the Needs of your Customers
Every customer wants something different when it comes to customer service, so how do you go about creating the ideal customer service for all of your clients? Well, in this very well written book Ron tackles this difficult conundrum. He gives examples of what stellar customer service is and he breaks down the meaning of uplifting customer service. He let's go of that old idea of the customer is always right and goes way beyond it for a meaningful transaction for all that are involved. If you are looking for an uplifting book that will get your juices flowing, then you must read this book. You will be left motivated to uplift not only the people in your business, but all people that you come into contact with.

A Breath of Fresh Air
A highly practical, engaging and inspiring book that is relevant for all of us. Although the book is focused on business, the lessons apply to all areas of our life. What I most liked most about this book was a reminder of how important a focus on service is for organisations to prosper commercially and the difference it can make to people's lives and sense of purpose at work. Ron focuses on an area of business improvement that has either played second fiddle or assumed to be a "given" for years, and put it back on on the map where it belongs. This book is filled with real life stories and underpinned by easy to understand frameworks. I'm really glad I read this book and would highly recommend it to you. Thanks Ron!
