Works like a champ. Able to store the bottle on its side, no leaks. In fact, it provides such a tight seal I have had a hard time removing it to get another glass of wine :-)

I had just purchased a Vinara wine vacuum pump for over $14 and was delighted with it, so when I saw the same item for one third of the price, I bought it. It looks identical to the Vinara, except if you look carefully, the valve component is clear plastic while in the Vinara, it is machined aluminum. The difference is that the Metal valve holds a seal for 2-3 days, whereas the plastic seal loses its vacuum in a couple of hours. In other words, this is basically worthless. Reinforcing the old adage that you get what you pay for.

Works great! It actually makes it pop like a champagne bottle it seals it that well!
