Star in the Jar Hardcover – Picture Book, September 4, 2018

I bought this on a whim one day, based on the glowing reviews. I'm so glad I did! Star in the Jar immediately became a bedtime story favorite in our house. Both my boys (ages 4 and 8) ask for it almost every night. The story is so sweet, relatable, and beautifully captures the magic of childhood. If you look carefully, you can find strategically placed stars in every illustration (the lunch lady's earrings, the helpful girl's assignment, the sherif badge...), and my boys love pointing them out. This book is great for kids of all ages, would make a wonderful gift, and is a perfect addition to any children's library.

A sweet story told from the perspective of a big sister about her little brother who found a lost star. He tries to return it but can't find where it belongs. The two work together to send a message to the sky, and the sky sees them and is grateful to find the little lost star and bring it home. At first the boy is sad to say goodbye to his star, but then he realizes he made a special friend of the whole starry sky. I won't mind reading this one 1,000 times.

Cute story with great visuals. We bought this book as a gift after enjoying it ourselves. Would recommend for ages 2-6.

Very tender story which does not rhyme, a detail I greatly appreciate. It's short, simple and sweet, my toddler easily relates. The drawing is very poetic and contains lot's of details in every page, and across pages, which allows me to stimulate further my child and deep dive into the book.I read about this book in Parents magazine which gave it a great review, and it is fully deserved.

I surprised my 6yo daughter with this book tonight at bedtime m, and she instantly fell in love with it (as did I)! The story is pure and sweet but also unique, and the illustrations are beautiful. My daughter’s eyes traveled all over the pages taking in all of the detail. So happy to have this addition to our library.

Nice book to put my son to sleep at night.

This is such a cute story about a girl helping her little brother. The illustrations do a a nice job of showing the friendship between the siblings. Great book!
