Great fire pit.
Best fire pit for the money hands down. Good grill? meh - maybe for a large party and as part of the ambiance it would be nice to grill 20 - 30 burgers or spin a chicken on it but the grilling accessories are no where near the quality of the fire bowl itself. For the price, the grilling accessories are what you would expect, don't get me wrong. However I purchased this as a fire pit because ever other firepit I looked at was too small, not built to last or required construction (I.E brick/stone/paver).One star off because assembly is a bit trickier than I think it needed to be. Again though, for the price, I'm not complaining but I can't mark it as "perfect" due to this.HINT FOR ASSEMBLING:Be very very attentive to when the manual says you should only hand tighten items at certain stages of the assembly. A lot of screws and holes need to line up and they wont if you lock stuff in too early on in the build. You need it to be "wobbly" so as new pieces need to be attached you have "play" room to line them up properly. Then you go back and tighten everything down

No parts to assemble
Missing all the parts to assemble and one of the tubes. Factory is mailing the missing parts after contacting. Looks like a good grill though, will wait and see. Was rated at 1 star because of this and then upped to 4 stars. After calling the factory, got the parts. Goes together easily with the good directions. Very heavy, should last a long time. Well built. Works well as a fire pit. For grilling, the grate warped slightly but I don't think it is a problem. For my first grilling, 1.5" steak, worked well albeit slower then I thought it would take. I am used to grilling on a 3 burner gas infrared grill. I will use more fuel next time. Easy to clean up.Would be nice if they offered a motor for the rotisserie. I am going to fabricate some kind of set up to use the motor from my other grill and the hand cranked spit included with the grill.

Good pit, but could use some improvements.
Good concept, but materials could be better. The fire, "bowl", is a good gauge of steel. The legs are ok, but the holes predrilled for the hardware didn't line up well at all. The greatest disappointment is the stainless grills and hardware. They are about as low a quality as you can get. The main grill loses its shape easy and the stainless is forming rust. A good quality stainless wouldn't do that. .... and a better qauge stainless for the grill would improve this product. The protective circular bars that mount around the bowl line up horribly. I will likely throw them out. Unless you have children that could use the added protection, I wouldn't bother mounting them. Being a contractor there are some improvements I plan on making. It's a good base to start with. Good luck. I recommend it if you don't mind making some of your own improvements. I do like they thought ahead to put a drain at the bottom too! A last note..... go to home depot and get a weber grill coal grate to go into the bottom of this bowl. It will keep the hot coals directly off the steel.

GREAT BUY - If Used Properly ! !
SURE . . . This is NOT a $700 grill !!! Duh ! Assembly was pleasantly easy by myself with and electric screwdriver and 7/16" wrench. Fire Pit is heavy and more than adequate. Legs are sturdy. Grill surfaces ARE a bit light BUT made for cooking not for a blast furnace cover. Any grill plating will fail and rust and even warp at very high temps. READ AND HEAD instructions for curing and use of hot surfaces !! Clean and treat with veggy oil and protect from rain. "Don't let hot coals touch the walls of the grill" !!! Even the best grill paint will fail at high temps ! Duh !! The grill should ONLY be in place when ready to cook - and then removed when cooking is complete. I used the small 12 inch "working table" grill to keep a porcelin coffee pot of water on for 4 days straight over oak wood fire. The small grill looked like crap - AS EXPECTED - clean, oil and store properly - - - - and it still looks like crap BUT will last and work for MANY years !! Same for the main grill. The small grill and pot hook are a pain if not level as they will swivel where you don't want. SO get some leveling shims from Home Depot and stop whinning. You can also spinkle a bit of sand on the pivot surface so it won't puvot easily.I saw several units in use at very large camp venues - - - many were taking turns cranking the manual spit and rotisserie with awesome meat products on it. I got a long spit and meat spikes at Home Depot and tied my elecrictric motor on with coat hanger wire . . . . . then ran it with a car battery and small inverter . . . . OMG ! I could do 6 cornish hens and the crowd went WILD !!!!!GOOD BUY - - - Understand what you paid for and use and care for it properly and you'll get great results and returns.

The Rivergrille is excellent. Very well made grille
The Rivergrille is excellent. Very well made grille, heavy duty, easy to put together, good overall quality. Definitely no skimping. A GREAT VALUE at $199.00. I have seen it for $299.00 + . The large fire pit dish is big enough for wood cooking and just great to use for a big fire pit. My first try out included using my kiln dry hard wood and some 3" rib eye cowboy steaks. The steaks came out unbelievable. The taste of juicy smoke favor lasted forever and the outside of the meat blacken perfectly with the ambers and smoke. Not like a gas grille that can burn it dry. One thing you may have to pay attention is adjusting the height of the grate if the ambers are too powerful especially in the beginning. I imagine it going to take little practice. I highly recommend trying wood grilling with this product you would be proud to show your friends. Additionally, your friends can hang out around the grille while your cooking because it is a pit style set up. I got tired of my mouth watering watching all these TV cooking shows featuring BQ using wood for cooking. I travel to Europe a lot and love the way they use wood burning ovens for meats and Pizza. Can't wait to go crazy cooking with the wood. A life changer. Plus after you enjoy the comfort of a wood burning BQ, enjoy after some drinks with a big fire pit for a perfect party. Sincerely a happy camper, Steve
