The original filter sold for this unit was a 2µ (micron) (Smaller is better), and this is a replacement for that filter for the EcoQuest Living Water II or III that filters down to 1µ. This means it has openings that allow the water through, but block most of the contaminants and even most of the Bacteria from your water. A great way to "upgrade" your Living Water II or III.
