Is this runner soft? Does it shed?

Hello there I didn't get the black one the colors that I got were the burgundy and the almost lavender purple-ish color and then I got a Persian print and they all were a flat carpet material almost like commercial carpet material they do not shed at all They have a rubber backing so they do not slide at all I love them they do the job for my dog so she doesn't slip and slide on our hardwood floors

I am using it in the kitchen. It is slip resistant.

Is it machine washable?

I wash mine in my washer and it does great. I do not put it in the dryer. I put it outside over my lawn chairs and it dries quickly.
