I want to use a paper cone filter instead of the Braun metal filter. What size of filter should I use? 10-12 cup or larger?

I know that the carafe for this unit is a 14cup carafe so I would suggest using a slightly larger paper filter than a 10-12 cup paper filer.

does it make good coffee when brewing less than 14 cups? We typically make about 6 cups at a time.

Worst coffee maker. Very difficult to setup clock, alarm, temp controls and hot plate. To answer specifically, we have never breeed < 14 cups. Also any time electricity goes out you have reset everything again. Not recommended by me.
