Playseat Gearshift Holder Mount

great product. If attaching to new seat I recommend attaching it to the seat frame before assembling the seat as the angle is awkward and the provided tool is less than friendly to use once the seat is assembled. On an assembled seat I suggest a hex bit on a driver with an extension. There's just not enough room to swing the tool but a thread at a time. That can be maddening and the urge to just force it will result in a poor fit and dissatisfaction with a costly product (seat and holder). Be patient and do it right the first time. I assure you the resultant product will be everything you paid for. Thread lock wouldn't be a bad idea during assembly as none of it comes with washers. Blue loctite will suffice. The red often requires heat to disassemble. Permatex has changed their packaging (all blue tubes) so be careful to get the right stuff. This will stave off loose fasteners over time from use.

Only three stars for this for a few reasons: Firstly, it is too expensive for what it is. Secondly, the position the gearshift ends up in is not exactly ideal (it's too low for my liking, and too far forward). And finally it does waggle around a bit, much like the rest of the Playseat. I'm pleased this exists and I won't be sending it back, but it could have been a bit better.For those of you using this mount with a G27 gearshift, note that you need to undo four screws on the shifter to get rid of the lower strut before bolting it to the mount. Two are obvious - two more are deeply recessed just next to the obvious ones.Also, although it doesn't say so in the description, this mount also works with the original Playseat. However... when fitted to the original Playseat, it is held on by only one bolt rather than two, as the hole in it doesn't match up with the cross member on the older seats. Do not despair - you can just drill a hole through the side plate on the seat and the plate on the shifter mount, and put a bolt through it.

You don't have to completely take apart your Evo seat. Just unbolt 2 screws & attach this. Quality construction but way too expensive for such a small item. IMO, this is worth $20 tops! Oh well, I guess I'm a sucker for buying it since I needed it for my G25 shifter, LOL! Only reason for the 4-stars is due to the price.

I bought this gearshift holder to attached my Logitech G27 shifter to my Playseat Evolution Gaming Seat. It came with all the requires parts and good instructions. It has a few adjustments that make finding the perfect fit/feel really easy. It comes with screws to mount the shifter directly to it, for a really secure fit. The only surprise was that you had to remove the mounting clamps from the shifter in order to fit it on the holder (not explained in the instructions), and required a long small screw driver which I luckily had.

So, I wanted to complete the experience and construction of my Playseat right... and this was the obvious choice. I really can't say anything wonderful about it - it is sturdy once you get it on, but it sits in an odd place that NO stick shift in any car would ever sit.At the end of the day, it appears to be something that would cost maybe $4 to manufacture, and to pour some salt into the wound, they don't even include these with their Playseats. Oh well, what am I going to do, picket?

This is a must-have accessory for anyone with a Playseat and a gear selector.Unit would be perfect if it had adjustable height, but overall positioning is not too bad.

Perfect for Logitech G27, but I had to first figure out how to remove the plastic clamp support on the Logitech gear shift assembly before it would fit in the Playseat Gearshift holder. There are FOUR (4) screws on the Logitech gear shift assembly - two are immediately visible, the other two are recessed all the way down, but once I found them it was simple, and the mount is secure and works well.

You need this if you have a G25/G27. Easy to install. Don't forget, you need to take the bracket off your shifter to install. Look for 4 screws under the shifter, remove them and you can mount it on your new bracket . It does not tell you that in the mounting instructions that comes in the box.
