Buttendz Flux Z Hockey Stick Replacement Grip

Nice idea, but don’t waste your money. They are almost impossible to fit over a senior stick. Bought two to put on my new Bauer Nexus Sr sticks, both of them ripped at the base. The pump on the Applicator sprays for both would stick, making it a royal pain to apply evenly. I watched the YouTube videos described on the packaging and followed instructions to a tee. For them, it fit right over and twisted on, not so much. Finally got one on with the help of a needle nose players to pull it over the top of the stick, but after 24 hours of drying, it did not stay. It actually slid down the stick over night.

Got one for christmas and decided to buy another one for my back up stick. It's a little messy getting it on but once it sits for 24 hours it's good to go. With the rear hand doing most of the stick handling and moving of the stick this adds great grip and control of the hockey stick. It's also nice that it's reusable and able to be used on your next stick even if you break one. This is also handle because you don't have to keep re taping the stick for extra grip. Totally satisfied with the purchase and would buy another if need be.

Like others have said, it can be difficult to install. My first attempt, it went about 3/4 on, then stopped. I was able to get it back off, but it wasn't easy. On my second attempt, I ran hot water over it for a few minutes to get the rubber warm and then stretched it every way I could to get it more stretchy. The second attempt, it went on much easier and the whole way. There was barely enough application fluid for this second attempt, so there should be more included. This has been mentioned enough times in reviews that you'd think the manufacturer would catch on and include more to avoid this issue being put in reviews.

Very very easy to install. Make sure you spray both the inside of the Buttendz and the top of the stick shaft. I have been skeptical for a while but I got a new set of gloves and I wanted to keep the palms nice and this is the perfect way to do it. My only concern is if my stick is dropped (whether it be on the ice or on the bench) and someone steps on the grip what will happen. But, despite the other reviews I will definitely be purchasing another for my backup stick as well as my practice and roller hockey sticks.

I have 4 of these on my hockey sticks are they are great! I made the switch from tape to these about a year ago and I can say I won't go back to tape. They are water resistant for the most part, haven't had any issues with the Buttendz being in water while on the bench. I found if you are having problems taking them off, use dish soap, and it comes off extremely easy. As for putting it on, I use WD-40 and I found it works much better on my senior sticks than using the spray that comes with it. Make sure when putting it on your stick, to spray WD-40 on your stick as well as the inside of the grip. It helps to twist the grip and twist your stick in the opposite direction and they'll slide on with relative ease.

I’ve had a couple of these and both times broke out in a sweat (and almost broke the stick over my knee) trying to install. They give you a mini spray bottle of some sort of lubricant, but it doesn’t help much give how much smaller these are than your actual stick. I’m going to try one of the other products that go on easier and then just pour hot water to seal.

I had very high hopes when I bought this grip. I had read other users and their difficulties putting it on. So I watched multiple YouTube videos and figured I could do this. I lost! I used the entire spray bottle saturating the inside of the grip and the shaft of the stick. As you can see I ALMOST got it on all the way. I’ve re-gripped dozens of golf clubs with ease. Here’s the sad part, I was torquing down so hard I actually broke my stick☹️ Not certain why the tolerances are so damn tight, but I will not waste more money on this product.

Liked it so much I got a second one and put it on. Only wish is that they gave more juice with it but my guess is it is just a simple soapy water solution. It is definitely hard to take off after it sets. So be ready to work on that rolling it off. Takes a bit of vibration out as well on the ice through the shaft. Will be using these going forward on all my sticks.
