Ötzi, the Iceman: The Full Facts at a Glance

As a resource for those who want to try to recreate stone age tools and clothing, this book is a valuable resource. I have made the knife, scabbard, grass mat, rucksack and arrows so far! And have a real appreciation of the value of twine!

This book has got a lot of basic information about Ötzi (how he was found, what scientists have been able to deduce from various analysis and experiments...) But it is a bit short, I would like to have slightly more detailed explanations and a longer book! Great for a quick "glance" as the title says.

Loved it . Visited the ice man in Italy and regretted not buying the book when I was there. The book is easy to read and full of interesting facts and great images .

Clearly this is the book sold in the museum shop and caters for for the average visitor. It is a slim volume, and, considering the large number of learned papers that have been published about the Eismann, I was hoping for a lot more science than is presented, particularly as the museum is rather a long way from UK.Why he is depicted topless on the book's cover? Clearly, he would have been heavily clad in order to go wandering at that altitude, so that is a bit of a mystery. We know he was slim and muscular anyway.

Fascinating book providing the basic background details to Otzi, his life and where he was found. Interesting to read, good pics and not too detailed or theoretical.

I like it because it is easely used. I use it in a study about "Man and Technology".
