The Children's Illustrated Bible (Childrens Bible) Hardcover – Illustrated, 1 March 2018

This is a handy book that can be carried anywhere. Which seems to be the reason for the small font. The illustrations are beautiful and interest evoking. I think 8+ can read this. Even adults can read it. I always feel that illustrated Bibles are the perfect way to get a child to begin his or her own spiritual journey.And yes, the font is smaller than normal but I think children can read it. The book is small because of this and that's probably why it is not bulky.

Like all DK books, this Bible too is of a very high standard - both quality and information-wise. very good, almost like an Encyclopedia. However, surprisingly, the font is quite small. Thus it would be quite challenging for an older person like a grandparent to read this out to a child. Other than that, I am impressed.

It is very good. Quality of pages are good. The font is small for an elderly to read but kids will manage. The Bible has to be compact for kids, plus it should include pictures so font has to be a little small I believe....

Thanks to Amazon for delivering it before delivery date. The packing was good. The Bible looks great to hold in hands and read. The paper quality is rich.

Absolute value for money (got it at a huge discount!!) ....Wonderful storytelling, Great illustrations....truly recommended for young kids...makes for fabulous reading...

Well written stories and lovely illustrations with a very useful index. Contents divided into Old and New testament and sub-divisions are excellent. There is also a good introduction to remind you of how the Bible came about. Each "story" is featured on a double page with additional notes in the margin giving geographical, cultural, historical details. The only disappointment was that I could not get this in an A4 size. When you read to children, they like to look at the pictures- far too small on the A5 format. I would recommend this for any child of 7 and above- A present to keep for life!

The book is much smaller than I expected, Although the content is good - the print is soooooo small that's it's almost impossible to read!

The type size is too small for comfortable reading, and there aren't enough pictures to keep kids engaged. It's also small - too small for sharing the reading experience. In short, a bad choice, as there are other far better alternatives on the market. I returned mine immediately - quite unsatisfactory! Not recommended at all...!!!

Any child who has the tenacity to tackle this miniscule print and negligible illustration collection which calls itself a Bible has my admiration.Is it a large scale book put into a smaller format?Scholarly yes:easy to read-not in any sensePerhaps Ms Hastings should direct her version of the Bible at the clergy or students of Divinity?Bought this for a Christening and squirmed to hand it over,it was so unsuitable

Regret we had to return this as being not fit for purpose. The type was so small as to be virtually unreadable. It would have helped to have the book's dimensions included in the description as this would have given the clue. There are two versions available, probably the earlier one is the full-sized format but this is only guessing. But have to say that my first experience of Amazon's returns system has been admirable.
