Does one have to unscrew entire cap to get drink? I would find this inconvenient while on step machine, treadmill or any other cardio machine

You might be happier with a different bottle / lid style. Wide mouth bottles are not for people who want to drink from a small hole. I love my wide mouth bottles. The simple design of the lid, and wide mouth bottle design, makes them very easy to clean. Pouring in or out is fast and easy, seal is quick and leakproof, bottles are extremely tough and durable. Is it dishwasher safe?

Yes. I wash mine in the dishwasher every day and it has lasted for years. This is the main reason I prefer a wide-mouth bottle: the dishwasher can get it clean.

is this wide mouth the same size as the 32 oz wide mouth?

The 1-pint bottle has a smaller mouth than the 32oz bottle. A square ice cube still fits into it.
