I was impressed with the build quality. Some plastic but the important wear points are metal and everything seems sturdy. A 350 grit and 600 grit stone are included. Best case would have been a design that allows a wider choice of aftermarket standard 4" stones but the ones included seem to be fine. Don't be in a big hurry when sharpening better quality steel because you are hand sharpening. The most important piece is holding the angle consistent on the blades you are working on and the Sharpal excels there with 2 secure metal clamps as holding jaws. I would be careful on grooming or hair sheers, I do not see a way to sharpen the convex edge that grooming shears usually have. This machine is designed primarily for fixed bevel scissors when are most common around the house and shop. For the casual user I go 5 stars, for the professional or high volume work it will still work but you're going to get tired after 4 or 5 pair.

Very good quality if you never sharpened a pair of scissors or if you never had any luck sharpening a pair you will be amazed how scissors cut and work being properly sharp I free hand sharpen most of my tools except few tools that demand precision this kid is very accurate comes with everything you need to sharpen scissors. It says it does other kind of shears and. Tools. I will say the price is a little high, but the quality the amount of stuff you get and the company does have a good warranty. If you have any issues, I’ve never had an issue with them not replacing anything so good customer service the speed and sharpening your scissors. There is a lot to it but once you set it up, it goes rather quick. it will seem at first like this is complicated but it really isn’t makes it super easy.

The Sharpal may look intimidating and complicated, but it is extremely easy to use.Sparpal has a short, but complete video showing you how to set up and use the sharpener. I posted a video with additional pointers on how to quickly (and easily) determine the optimal angle for sharpening each pair of scissors.I found the sharpener very effective at sharpening. It takes the guesswork out of hand sharpening, as long as you properly set the angle, you will end up with a sharp pair of scissors.The build quality of the Sharpal is good. The sharpener is mostly made out of plastic, making it rather lightweight. When using the sharpener, I needed to hold the base down with one hand while moving the sharpening tool with the other. This worked well, since very little pressure is needed to sharpen the scissor's edge. For additional stability, you can clamp the base of the sharpener to a table.I appreciate the ease of use and the value of not needing to replace dull scissors (and gardening tools) or having to pay someone else to sharpen them for me. This saves money and time. It also enables me to sharpen them whenever I want. In the past, I would put up with dull sheers and wait until they were extremely dull before replacing them or having them professionally sharpened.Using the Sharpal, I get professional quality sharpening at home—whenever I want.

The Sharpal is easy to set up after just a brief look over the excellent instructions. The adjustable pivot that holds the arm works well and gives an accurate angle every time. After clamping your tool in the adjustable jaws, adjust the clamp to either A or B and then raise the pivot to fine tune the angle using the convenient scale. It comes with two different grit stones, and the instruction manual says replacements are available.The base is plastic, with the clamp, pivot and arm of metal. In general, it looks to be built well. It is a pleasure to use and speeds up the sharpening process as well as the accuracy. Seems to be a good value for the money.

I am a person that semo-professionally sharpens knives. One thing I have always struggled to sharpen is scissors. It was especially challenging to sharpen scissors that can't be easily taken apart. This system holds the scissors in place in a way that keeps the other side of the scissors opened and out of the way. It comes with a rough grit diamond and a fine grit diamond. This system is designed to shape both bevels of the scissors. You shape the larger, more noticeable bevel which is the one at a shallower angle. You then unscrew s knob and tilt the entire thing forward and it automatically positions the scissors for the second, steeper angle.This system is amazing. On a side note, I have a lot of products from Sharpal and I have yet to see anything that isn't of extraordinary quality.
