Stays put better than others I've tried
Be aware this comes out very dark.Bought to transition to my natural grey hair.Hair does not need to be pale blonde for this to take.It didn't smell strongly & didn't damage my hair. However it isn't really permanent as there is no such thing as a permanent grey. It has however slowly faded & looks completely natural. Unlike a previous colour that badly stained my hair purple. I wrecked my hair trying to fade it 😔I used it about a month ago & wash my hair every other day using sulphate free shampoo. It's the sulphates that fade hair colour really quickly. Purple shampoo is high in sulphates so it's not advisable to use it. Also use luke warm water not hot.My hair was bleached a few months prior to using this & was very damaged! & this has held onto the bleach exceptionally well.Didn't hold onto my natural grey so well but it's all blended in now my hair has been cut short so it's not important.Definitely worth buying, & if my bleached ends start to show through I will use it again.Update :2 months on & it's faded to a darker silver colour. It hasn't completely gone which is a bonus. My natural mostly white hair is about 3" through & it looks natural mixed in with the dyed bits. The back & sides of my hair were cut very short & there was no bleached & dyed bits left there. They have grown & blend in perfectly. If you are wanting to transition to your natural grey, bleach the lengths then dye them with this. Cheats way of going natural without the dreaded 6" of grey roots & dyed ends. Which imo looks awful

Graphite Grey Brilliant!
I have naturally white/platinum hair which is slightly darker at the back and use semi permanent colours (colourista, Bleach London) changing colours frequently and creating multi tonal fades. 2 days ago I had all my hair cut very short from very long pink/purple & pale blue unicorn hair and didn't like the brash contrast of pink, purple and the white after the cut. I'd bought the Graphite Grey Freedom a few weeks before as was going to put it on my long hair but was a bit dubious whether it would take and be the grey I wanted or just go purple like some of the reviews said happened. . I'd already got purple in my hair from semi permanent so didn't want to add more purple especially a permanent one. So, after having my hair chopped off I thought OK, let's go for it as I can always have it cut out next trim. And tadahh!! I love it! It's took really well and can still see a bit of the purple underneath as a tonal effect but totally covered my pink and white/darker grey. My hair is really thick and quite porous and It sucks up colour pretty quick and retains it so i don't need to bleach it. If you have hair like mine it will take lovely. How long it will take to fade and to what colour it will fade to I don't know yet obviously but will try and remember to update on that one.

Good
Good product, looks a bit dark when you first put it on, came out as more of a bluey purpley colour rather than silver or grey. Great colour, just not what I wanted

Great colour, but not permanent
I was a bit sceptical at first of any grey/silver hair dyes, having bleached my hair to death and used every purple shampoo to try and rid the yellowy tones out, with minimal success.I heard great things about Colour Freedom so I thought I'd give it a try since it's relatively cheap - the cheap actually came out really nice, a lot darker graphite than I thought but it covered up all the yellow in my hair. Plus no drying out of the hair. The only downsides are the colour doesn't last very long compared to other brands, I'd say it started fading almost immediately and all the colour was gone within about 3 - 4 weeks. But I've bought another box to reapply it because it was such a nice product anyway! Some extra notes for those who might be a bit wary: it does have quite a strong, pungent smell (a mix between faint rotten eggs and peroxide) but it washes away immediately - and it does contain hydrogen peroxide, so can make your hair quite brittle, especially if it's already weak. After applying, rinsing and conditioning, I combed through my hair and a significant amount of hair broke off/came out, nothing disastrous as I have plenty more where that came from but worth noting if your hair is thin already.

Love this dye!
I've been using this dye to transition from dark brown to grey. I went to a hairdresser (who was lovely and did a great but very expensive job) as she insisted the only thing I could do was go from my natural dark brown up through the shades until I could go blonde and then grey/white! This dye was the solution; it's more like my natural colour when I first apply it but it doesn't 'knock out' my natural grey. It does start to fade after about 6 washes and for me leaves longer and longer strands of grey against darken hair. I highly recommend this dye for anyone with medium to dark brown that is greying. Try it, you won't regret it and don't believe everything hairdressers say regardless of how lovely or talented they are at gradually bleaching your hair. If you want to even your grey out and stay otherwise dark this dye is the answer. I apply about every 6 to 8 weeks, unlike other shop bought dye browns, especially darker shades, I had to redo every 2 weeks as left a nasty stark white regrowth line....my natural grey with this is much more blended. Well done Knight and Wilson, good job and thank you.

The Violet is extremely subtle, virtually non existent.
My hair was blonde with a lot of natural grey. I followed the instructions exactly but there is hardly any sign of violet. My hair just looks grey, its a decent shade of grey but you definately wouldn't call it violet. Waste of money really as 3 days later im going to colour again with a LIVE colour.
