These shorts are super cute but they don't fit well for the size. They don't stretch even with the stretch waistbands. My son is 6 yrs old, 47 lbs. He is skinny for his age so I got the size 6 slim, when I tried them on and had the bands untied I still struggled to get them closed. I would size up! Great colors, they have pockets and my son said they felt comfortable.
