Nice set of general snips!
The other day I was puttering around and needed a pair of snips - but I was in the back yard and the closest snips were in my roll-around tool box in the basement. I didn't even have a pair in the garage.I ordered a Stanley FatMax 9 7/8 inch straight cut pair of snips based on price, reviews, and the name "Stanley". (Not that "Stanley" means "Infallible" but it is a name I recognize and that's a plus to me). Stanley offers a limited Lifetime Warranty on this gadget. The Stanley performs as advertised; I tried them out on various bits and pieces when I received them and they are just the thing for my tool tote - the one that has "general" tools in it for fixit jobs and puttering.I like the locking mechanism, and it can be unlocked using one hand.Speaking of hands, the Stanley has a very nice set of hand grips that should (YMMV) keep your hands fairly comfortable when snipping away on longer jobs.EDIT 7/18/16: With additional usage I've found that it's quite possible to pinche one's hand while using the FatMax. An adjustment in one's grip can avoid being pinched, but I felt I should mention the issue. Not a tool that I'll use every day, but at least now I'll have a set of snips that are more readily available. Tool boxes are great, but only if you're near them when you need the tool.HTHRegards,Jim

Works great for hardware cloth. I haven’t tried it on anything else though.

WORKS AS ADVERTISED!
These tin snips work perfectly for my needs. I purchased them to cut screws for my new cabinet door handles, and they cut them like butter. I didn't need to put a lot of pressure on them to cut through the screws. And the cuts were all straight! Over all, I am very happy with my purchase, and highly recommend these tin snips to my family and friends and anyone who may be on the fence to just buy them!

WOW, this is a great tool!
Probably the best and most versatile tool I have ever purchased. I have used this tool to cut zip ties, those annoying clamshells that products come in, 18 gauge wire, popsicle sticks, screen, metal sheets, plastic spool covers, mostly stuff that crafters need cut, but don't have a specific tool to use. These are wonderful. I don't know how many pairs of regular scissors, heavy duty scissors, nail clippers and cuticle scissors I have gone through trying to cut these and other things that I can't think of right now. This an amazingly versatile tool. I have cut wire in extremely tight quarters with the very tip and gotten an accurate cut, then used the tip on thinner metal sheets and still had a good looking cut. I have lost a lot of strength in my hands and I still haven't had to use all of my "muscles" to cut.If and when these need replacing (if they don't survive me) I will be buying another pair. Love them!!

Versatile Tool
Used this to trim metal tab n fireplace grate. The grate had metal tabs that were in place to keep the grate stationary. Moved the grate to clean the firebox and the tabs bent outwards. Rather than bend the tabs and possibly keep a safety issue, used this tool to snip the tab off, then filed down the residual metal on the grate. No more worry about catching a finger or glove in the tab. The tool just needed a steady grip to make a precise cut in one squeeze of the tool. Also cut through chicken wire like butter. The grips are sound and just the right size for a large hand. Craftsmanship is right on, with the use of first rate materials, as well as precision tooling. These snips will get lots of use in the future. If you need to cut metal, wire, or fencing, then this is the tool for you.
