Is this gun compatible with half length darts?

Partially. It is designed to use three quarter length darts. If half lengths are used, some work fine, but some will slip out of the shells.

Is this compatable with other nerf darts?

No. The darts are three quarters the length of Nerf Elite darts. If Elite darts are cut to length, they will work, however.

The teaser video seems to obscure the functionality on this piece. Doesn’t show it actually firing anything. My question: why?

How is this US legal, it doesn't have an orange front tip?

US Federal Law requires an orange tip *or* for it to be predominantly from a list of approved colours, which includes white. (I am not a lawyer. State laws may vary.)
