Could be better for its price!
I use the Breadman Plus for more than 2 years about twice a week. First of all, the non-stick surface on the loaf pan and on the kneedle paddle is not durable at all - very fast it becomes damaged (despite I handled it very carefully), especially on the kneedle paddle - and after that removing the loaf from the pan and paddle from the loaf is the hell. Second, the rubber sealant at the bottom of the loaf pan made from very bad quality material. In general, seal have poor design and need to be disassebbled, cleaned and covered by new grease too often - otherwise it does not rotate properly. High temperature grease for food processing equipment cost a lot and is not easy to find (especially if you are not food processing company but just a private person). Rubber part for the seal can not be bought separately anywere - manufacturer offer you to purchase new loaf pan instead, for the price that almost the price of new breadmaker! New kneedle paddle cost a lot as well. I spent unreasonable amount of my time, trying to get the information of price and ordering of replacement parts from the manufacturer! The device is not equipped with any detector of the overfiling the loaf pan by the rising dough - it happens sometimes, even if you are very carefull about the measuring the components. In this case everything outside the pan is firing when the device begin to bake. I am not recommend to everybody to leave the working device without constant supervision, it could make a fire or poison you with smoke! After such thing happen - cleaning of the device is the hell and your new bread smell with smoke for a long time after that.In addition, the loaf pan is not dishwasher safe - aluminum parts corrode fast if you wash it in dishwasher and seal is not designed for the washing the pan in dishwasher either. Metal parts of the "removable for easy cleaning" lead also corrode fast in the dishwasher - obviously they were not desighned for washing in the dishwasher. There is no possibility to make your own programs (many recepies require that). Most bread machines in the same price range do have this feature. There are no option to make 1 lb loaf - only 1.5 or 2 lbs. Again, most breadmakers in the same price range have a choice of all 3 loaf size: 1, 1.5 and 2 lbs.Device is extremely noisy - there is no way to sleep when it works. The conclusion is that the Breadman Plus is underfeatured, poor quality and not always safety appliance, despite it high price. The only good thing that I could say about it - that after more than 2 years of frequent use it is still alive. It did not broke right after the warranty period expired (like many goods do).I would not recommend it to anybody!

I am returning mine
I bought the Breadman TR800 from another catalog. I have owned one other bread machine in the past. This one baked fine, but was SO NOISY we couldn't tolerate it. It's getting shipped back today.I came to Amazon to check out what else is available and what others have said about those machines. This machine, besides being noisy, only has 1 blade which I guess is no longer the standard. It sounds like 2 is better. I am considering the one that starts with a Z, but I can't go back to that page to learn the spelling. I hope this helps you in your decision making.

Replacement parts for Breadman products
It's easy to get replacement parts for the Breadman but not so easy to find it on the web. I spent two hours searching and that's why I'm posting this! They are a division of Toastmaster. The web site is [...] and the customer service department is 800-233-9054. They are VERY friendly and fast. I just replaced my kneading paddle for $8 and they don't charge you for shipping.

Breadman Bread Machine
The machine works great, but follow the directions on taking care of the bucket, I didn't and now my bread sticks in the bucket. I am going to try spraying to see if that will work. Just for fun I have been getting starter recipes plus making my own starter. I just made a loaf using package mash potatoes with cheese which is really good. Have fun and don't gain too much.

disappointed w/breadman plus
my husband used their recipe for whole wheat bread-2 pkgs of yeast and added gluten flour(which adds a great pop to the rise). This was the 2nd time we added the gluten-using their recipe for 2lb whole wheat-was a big door stop-both times. I love my kitchen aid mixer-heavy duty-could handle heavy dough. so far we are so sad and disappointed.cheryl

Disappointed with company who shipped product
I ordered this new breadmaker for my parents as a gift. Upon opening, they found breadcrumbs inside, as if it had been used. I've heard these machines are very good. Although I would not use Cyebye.com as the shipper.

I *like* my Breadman...
I've had one of these makers for 3 years and I love it. It's worked incredibly consistently for me at least once a week making bread, dough, jam. I do have a few warnings for potential owners:1. If the dough ball is too dry, the motor can't turn properly and makes a popping sound. This is probably the noise that all the other reviews are talking about; otherwise the noise is no worse than any other breadmaker I've been around. If this happens, add water a bit at a time until the dough is of a better consistency.2. This machine causes bread to rise like crazy. I've had to reduce the yeast in all the recipes I use by at least half, and a 1.5-lb loaf fills the pan. I didn't need to do this with my old machine--breadmaker cookbook recipes always worked great as-is.3. Like any other breadmaker, none of the parts can go in the dishwasher, and you have to be really careful of the nonstick surface. The manual says these things, though.4. Sometimes a small amount of flour gets stuck in the corners if the dough was pretty dry to start out with. If I'm around when it's mixing, I push the flour out of the corners with a spatula. If not, I brush the flour off the completed loaf.5. When making jam, I reduce the pectin required by the recipe by about half and the jam is still sets up almost hard.

Worked great
Mine worked great until I stupidly let my husband remove a loaf when I wasn't home and the paddle vanished from all human knowledge. Two provisos: Only make 1-1/2 lb loaves and do scrape the corners down after the mixing cycle.I recommend the cookbooks by Danna Rathmell German The Bread Machine Cookbook III (Nitty Gritty Cookbooks) is the one I used most; I recommend Carey's White Bread and the chocolate strawberry bread.
