Q: When you say kite adapter, what does that fit? I was hoping it would fit the valve for a kite board kite but that doesn't seem to be the case

What we provide is a more general adapter, compatible with most of the corresponding products, can you provide product interface photos, we will help you finalize.

Q: Does the adaptor need a rubber gasket? Mine did not come with one, so all of the attachments fit loosely. They leak air and won’t stay on.

Mine did not - fortunately the pump I was using it with did have two gaskets - a thin one and a thicker one - only one worked (the thinner one, I think)
