Perfect steel cup for student travellers
I bought this cup for my student apartment because I travel a lot and need my kitchenware to come with me, even on the airplane from time to time. It was important to me that it was portable (rather light), easy to clean (smooth surface on the inside), sturdy (unbreakable), pleasant in the hand (wide handle) and somewhat insulated.Given the great ratings, I had high expectations of the product. The only reason why I write this review - which I never do - is that this product even exceeded my expectations. It genuinely is the most well-designed mug I ever had and I can whole-heartedly recommend it to anyone else who has similar criteria. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.Regarding the often written concerns about how insulated this cup is, it is just right. I like to pour boiling water into the cup and then let the tea steep for some minutes. During those minutes, I can hold the cup in my hand and let it warm my fingers. It does not get hot.

I LOVE THIS CUP
It’s durable and well-made. The contrasting finish inside and out is beautiful. It’s not heavy and it holds heat well but insulated so you can hold the cup. The handle is well balanced and easy to lift the cup with. It’s feel durable. So that’s the practical part. The other part is that it’s got a nice feel to it and is evocative of both the indoors where it looks chic and artisanal, as well as outside on a camping trip or a log cabin some-here. I bet I get a lot of years out of it.

Good cup for sipping on coffee
Light weight, comfortable to hold, keeps coffee has warm has could be expected for a coffee cup.... Followed directions on soaking cup in water and vinegar before using and no metallic taste ... would make a great small gift for others.

Best work mug .
This mug is great! I was looking for a mug that had the perfect graphic, then I found this one.It will not break or chip; it scrubs clean; it keeps bevs hot or cold longer; it is way better than the Styrofoam or paper cups we have at work and I no longer guilt about adding cups to the landfill.Longing for a graphic? Try an Old West tin cup meme. Doodle on it. Play beats by plinking it. Just carry it around knowing it is the best looking mug in the office.

Keeps coffee moderately warmer than typical ceramic mug
I ran a 3-way test with hot coffee starting at 128 degrees. 1 of these mugs, a standard ceramic mug, and a glass double walled mug. After 10 minutes, this mug and the glass mug (the two insulated mugs) each were about 5 degrees warmer than the ceramic mug (these were at 120 degrees, ceramic mug at 115). After 30 minutes, the difference was about 10 degrees (about 110 degrees for insulated, 100 for ceramic). After an hour, it was about 12 degrees (about 100 degrees for insulated, 88 for ceramic). So while this will keep your coffee warmer, nothing will stop the slow leak of heat.

nice cup. Well insulated.
The coffee doesn't stay that hot in this. But I bought it for a warmer. Well, the issue is that the bottom is double walled as well. This cup really isn't for hot coffee, it's just for COFFEE :-) It feels nice, it's easy to clean, and looks great! (in my shelf)

nice mug but double walled? WARNING!
the mug looks nice and feels nice, but... to me and most people (i believe) a "double-walled" mug means i can put hot or cold liquid in it, it will keep hot or cold for a "much longer than normal" amount of time and the outside of the mug will NOT reflect the temperature of the liquid inside. this mug does NOT represent this. you put cold liquid in it, it does NOT stay colder for longer and the outside of the mug will get very cold. so the insulation (if it's there) is NOT good. word of warning if you plan to put a hot beverage in this mug. be prepared to burn your hands.

I did a heat comparison test
I decided to check the insulation retention ability of this new steel mug compared to one of my many typical stoneware mugs. I put equal amounts of boiling water into the room temperature mugs, this stainless steel mug, and my regular sized stoneware mug. Total water was 10 ounces each. The room was 68 degrees.I was surprised on the initial 1 minute reading, the steel mug started out at a much higher temperature. I think it was because the regular mug took a lot of energy (heat) to cool down the sides of the mug, where the steel one did not need as much to cool the much thinner sides. I did the total test for 15 minutes, as eventually both mugs will reach the same equalized temperature (both would reach room temperature ultimately). I probably will not use this mug at home, since it is steel and not microwavable, but it will be great for my RV.This mug is slightly larger than the typical stoneware mug at 13.5 ounces, at least compared to the ones I own. I would guess most of my mugs are approximately 12 ounces.Minutes --Steel Mug Temperature --Stoneware Mug Temperature1 ---------193 -------------------------1773 ---------182 -------------------------1675 ---------177 -------------------------1607 ---------169 -------------------------1559 ---------165 -------------------------15015 --------151 -------------------------138I really like this mug, it has a nicer wide handle for comfort than most others with narrow handles, a mirrored interior for easy cleaning, and it is 304 steel (18/8). Other mugs with the thin handle look like they would be uncomfortable to hold. The mug has a light, but also has a quality feel to it. The seam is hard to spot, I think it is in the lip.I will keep this review up to date if anything happens to the mug.
