Suitable for ACTUAL use
I think this is fantastic.Others said issues with stitching and snaps, but I didn't see any of that. The stitching isn't something you would see on an expensive dress shirt, but it's functional and I'm sure its comparable to the original version. The canvas is pretty heavy.Holds G3 20 rd AR-10 mags snugly with a great fit.I had no issues with the D-ring straps coming lose.Full rig and rifle, was able to dance and jump around the place with without any ripping, tearing, rattling, or fitment problems. Not sure what people are complaining about. Easily a great functional rig.And it definitely beats trying to make something out of an Ikea bag.

Classic for a reason
The good about this is that it is made tough and will last for a good long while, it doesn’t take up much room or weigh me down. And for the most part, it is functional. it fits my HK 91 magazines as well as my MA and scar magazines. The only bad that I have about this is that it is a single stack so you’ll only be able to carry four mags and not eight. It also doesn’t directly attach to plate carriers and body armor, so you have to strap it on afterword which can make it feel a little awkward.

Worth the price
I like the stitching, the material is strong, and the fit is correct. The snaps on the pouches all failed right away. They were easy to repair. A small flaw in a good item.

Looks cool, requires some user modifications to work well
Pretty happy with it. Holds G3 mags very well and is pretty low profile and comfy.Made out of heavy duty canvas this feels pretty sturdy though I haven’t given it any serious use.Putting it on I noticed two big issuesFirst the waist strap has what is probably a period correct double d ring buckle but in practice this makes putting on/taking off the chest rig annoying. I retrofitted mine with a modern plastic snap buckleSecond and biggest concern was that there is almost no purchase below the button snap to grab the mag pouch flap. I sewed on little loops of paracord to give me something to grab onto while pulling agaisnt the snap. This worked great, though on the first day of testing it out I had one of the snaps pop off after yanking on it. I was able to fix it, but these snaps might be a weak point in the design. If you’re thinking of using thing for any kind of rugged activity, you might want to replace the button snaps with Velcro

One size fits all, and we'll made!
This works well with ar10 mags and is easy to use. Fits me and my waist is a 40", adjustable for thin people too!

Very well made - It even smells right.
I have to say that my initial impressions of this Re-Pro FAL chest rig are very good. It has a build quality that is equal to, if not better than British equipment of the Era and WW2 Mil-Surp Canvas stuff. That's a good thing. The Canvas material is quite thick, the stitching are firm and secure. The hardware is a metal D ring that I'm familiar with, they'll hold and not break under any use, unreasonable or otherwise. The ends of the straps are folded and stitched as to not fray. The button snaps are good but after lots of prolonged use I could see them becoming less firm. For the price, you simply can't beat this.Note that it even smells like old surplused gear, that was a big indicator to me that this was going to be good.

Please read. Thanks
Yes, it does smell. I'm ok with that. Hoped it would. Surplus always does. Now. I have used canvas gear from the early 80sUS issue and NATO issue. This product is very common from what I have used. Now in saying that. The equipment that is issued and used today Is a hybrid of what we used 30 to 40 years ago.The gear today is scientifically made to make the operator the most effective and Less fatigued as possible. So , take that for what it's worth. This rig is a piece of history. It still functions and has value. For those of us that need for a FN FAL or G3 mag rig . Well this is it. Thank you.
