Clarks breathes new life into a traditional favorite in the Desert boot. This two-laced offering in leather boasts light-hearted sensibilities and a laid-back attitude that's certainly not too lazy. A crepe sole promises falter-free traction whether you're traipsing the sands or the streets in Desert. From its humble beginnings in 1825 in the tiny English village of Street, Somerset, to a global company that manufactures and markets close to 35 million pairs of shoes a year, Clarks' commitment to comfort, quality, authenticity, and individual style has remained unchanged throughout the centuries.

Clarks desert boots are a winner
These boots are very well made and still the classic design. They are expensive but probably in line with other well made leather boots. I did have to order a half size larger than my usual one.

So disappointed.
I was so excited to get these super cute boots. I read some reviews saying they ran small and extremely narrow so I ordered a 1/2 size up. Oh, my goodness...when I tried to try them on, I couldn't even get my foot inside the boot. Once I forced my foot inside, it hurt so bad I had to pull them right off. It was like trying on shoes 2 sizes too small. I would think after that many reviews of the same feedback, the company would modify. It's a shame because they sure are adorable. I was very disappointed and am returning them. I would expect a comfortable fit for that high of a price.

45 Years of Memories
Growing up in Tucson a few years ago, being a senior in Hi School, I had a pair of Clarks Desert Boots that I wore daily without fail into my College years. I didn't really take care of them and in time they just molded to my foot. The uppers collapsed to the form my foot and the soles did the same. I cleaned them by rubbing them with sand. They just kept looking better and better. The only drawback I can remember is when I stepped in a puddle of gasoline of the day and the soles got a little gooey. I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem with what they call gasoline today although I haven't tried it. Funny how somethings change and other things remain the same. Just got my first month on them but they feel the same.

Small and different color tone
I sized up by 0.5 due to the reviews, and the boots are still quite small and pinch your foot unless you have very narrow or I guess flat feet. I imagine that the leather would stretch after wear, though I'm not willing to risk that. Ordering an entire size larger just seems extreme IMO, since the shoe would get longer and it's already longer than my other shoes. The main reason I'm returning these is because the brown tone of each shoe is different enough that it would seem as though I grabbed two different shoes in the dark when I got dressed. There's also a bit of stickiness and part of a label on the side of one boot. I'm slightly disappointed I couldn't love these as I saw them on a friend and immediately ordered a pair.

The desert boot - a classic shoe
I had been looking for years for a pair of desert boots. In my youth in the 60's they were quite common and I wore out more than few pairs. So I was thrilled to find them available through Clark's.These are the classic desert boot, identical to those available in the past. I guess they've always been available, just hard to find in stores. They took a little while to break in, but now are extremely comfortable. I get comments on them all the time.My only suggestion would be to go to a red vibram sole instead of the crepe. I had a pair like that, also with bigger brass eyelets, but they were not made by Clark's (don't know who made them and have not been able to locate a similar pair). The light colored crepe absorbs the dirt and grime so the soles always look black. Plus, crepe doesn't seem as durable as other sole materials.Aside from that, I love the shoes and highly recommend them.

Love my Clark's
I accidentally purchased these in my normal athletic shoe size and had to send them back for a replacement. The vendor was very quick in getting the new order sent out as well as refunding me for the first one. This is the third pair of Clark's I've bought and I love love love them for spring/summer wear. With a pair of trouser socks, they're almost as good as bare feet when it gets hot out and they perfectly straddle the line between cool comfort and office/business casual appropriate. For this price, I may buy a third pair before they summer is out as they usually run about $130 in the Clark's store at the mall.

Classics meet expectation!
I began wearing these after a trip to Kenya in 2006, as our guides wore similar shoes. They are like being barefoot but not. Loose like loafers, I wear them to the office, to walk dogs; I wear them out and order more; Clark's is gracious to send free laces when needed, too.Reasonably priced, as close to bare foot as one can safely get out doing what we do in life, I praise them. No, they are not for mountain climbing; yes, they are for most anything else. Life expectancy for daily use is a year and change, but it's a comfortable year and change.

Incorrect Size - Mislabeled. Says size 9, actually size 7.5.
Ordered a size 9 mens for the Beeswax desert boots 2.0. It came WAY too small. Looked at the size label on the sole, and while it says US 9, the UK size says 6.5 (which is a size 7.5 US). I sent this back and received another mislabeled Beeswax desert boots (says 9 U but is actually 7.5 US). I'm giving this 2 stars as I also ordered a size 9 mens Sand Suede desert boots (in picture) and those came in with the correct size (label says US 9, UK size 8). Returning once more hoping to get the Beeswax desert boots that is actually size 9 mens.
