Really great trail shoe!
LOVE these shoes. I tried on a pair in Chamonix and fell in love with the flat midsole and wide toe box. Very comfortable. So far the lack of "megagrip" on the outsole of the lone peak 9 doesnt seem to be an issue. So far they seem to grip really well on wet concrete at least. I will put these through the paces but so far extremely impressed with the style, colors, comfort and performance.

Comfortable and great traction
Light and comfortable Great fit for wide feet. Excellent grip even in slick terrain. Just hiked in swiss alps and they were perfect.

Great shoes for everyday use or for sports.
Excellent shoes that I use for normal day to day walking. I have other shoes of the same brand and style that I use for hiking and working out. They are lightweight and comfortable. The price was the lowest I have seen. Highly recommend these shoes.

Bought on a whim, but will continue to buy
I bought these on a whim to try a new style of running shoe. I had been running in ALTRA Men's Olympus 5 Trail shoes for the last two years. I used them for a few half marathons, hiking , some trail runs, and my gymShoes. After trying on these shoes I regret not trying the Lone Peaks earlier. While I have no complaints about the Olympus 5s the Lone Peaks are so much lighter, comfortable , and feel much better. They are light and flexible. I didn’t require any break in period. They seem to conform to my feet better while still having the large open toe box. I wear a size 12 and ordered the 12 and have zero issues after about 25 miles put on them running. So to me the size runs true. Lastly I am a person who does not like flashy shoes and I am rather dull in the sense that I prefer a nice black or matte black shoe with no shiny plastic or anything like that. So the lone peak offering a fairly basic black lone peak made me very happy. I will be recommending these shoes to anyone who asks my opinion on gear.

Brilliant shoes. Where have these been all my life??
Planning a hiking vacation in the fall and I have been wearing these all summer. Can't say enough good things about these shoes. Foot shaped shoes -- why have we been wearing pointed shoes smashing our toes? Bought these and the waterproof version. Been wearing these in the summer and they are fabulous. Do yourself a favor and order a pair. These are lightweight. The zero rise his wonderful! Holding up well so far.

Best LP yet
Have been using this model since V3 and this is the best LonePeak so far, love how it snugs around the ankle yet roomy toe box and 0 drop.

Left achilles
I have purchased 11 pairs of Altra trail running shoes in the past. I really appreciate the wide toe box. I have been increasingly disappointed in the inconsistent designs. This latest design bruised my left achilles tendon so bad after only wearing the shoes for walking an hour on two separate days that it is taking weeks to heal. I have never had an achilles tendon hurt before. The design of this shoe heal is terrible. The front of the shoe is not as flexible as the first models I purchased. The only way I can use these shoes is to take shears and cut off the top of the back end of the shoe. While this shoe has great traction, the front of the shoe is not as flexible as the first models I purchased. I'm very disappointed that I wasted money on this shoe and have 3 weeks of recovery because of it.
