We have this hanging on a wall and it does a decent job of holding light objects. The pockets at the top are great for smaller things, and the bottom compartments hold diapers really well. It's the two middle "shelves" that are sort of pointless. Things slide off because they sort of pitch downward. But I just keep some lightweight blankets there and they stay put most of the time.

WARNING: Join Wears Out Quickly and Mirror Won't Stay in Correct Position!
After about 6 months of having this mirror, the ball joint where the mirror attaches to the headrest mount became so loose that it no longer maintains the correct position. No matter what I do, I end up staring at my baby's crotch after driving for a few minutes. There is no way to lock in the position or tighten the ball joint, so now this mirror is useless and I'll have to find a different one. AVOID this product!
