Works like you would expect it to.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Â Does exactly what I was hoping for, allowing me to stay in one position while swimming. Granted the slight pull back from the cord causes slight differences but the feel of swimming laps is still there. Even my daughter who just start pre swim team at 11 years old could use it just fine.

Tethered swimming is a cinch
My apartment pool isn't nearly long enough to swim laps. I had used a similar device when swimming competively in high school. This is well made with high quality materials. I fasten it to one of the railings poolside. I have used it for a week about 45 mins/ day. I would recommend rinsing it with freshwater after use. I would also recommend not storing in direct sunlight (even if you don't live in the desert). I have not used the drag 'chute yet. I am really impressed thus far. I have had more than a few people ask me about it since I started using it. It arrived on time, packaged appropriately. It was a great value as well.

This is a great tether - because it's LONG I've used this tether ...
This is a great tether - because it's LONGI've used this tether a lot now; definitely the best tether I've used. The best, most important thing about it that I didn't realize until after I got it, is that the tether is LONG.At first, it seems that a long tether would be a drawback, in that it's unwieldy. (In fact, it's so long that I don't think you can use the parachute with the provided tether in a lap pool without annoying the guy behind you.) BUT - when you're swimming tethered, that long tether SMOOTHS out the swim. If you sprint, you don't just jerk forward and then jerk back the moment you slow down - you gradually move forward, and actually stay there for several arm strokes until you let up. Not once did I feel that I was jerked forward or backwards, as I have with shorter tethers. So tolerate the long (5+ feet) tether, as it's the reason you'll get a nice, smooth swim out of this. The belt is thick and durable - I haven't chafed with it at all, although it's firm enough that I'm sure some unlucky folks will based on body type. The parachute is small - as said, this is the weakest link, as the tether is wayyy too long to safely use the parachute in a lap pool in a circle swim. I'd just ignore the parachute, and assume you're buying a tether, not a parachute+tether.

The best 20 something dollars you will spend this month
I hate positive reviews that are deceiving so here is the truth. This is the best twenty three dollars I have spent this month. I have tried other swimming belts and this is hands down the best. Love the bungee because it provides just the right amount of resistance and isn't jolting when you swim. Love the wide waistband. I can see how it may dig into your skin but I wear a one piece and have had no problems. This worked for all strokes except the side stroke for me. We have a 30 foot round above ground pool and this worked great tied to the pool ladder. Love, love, love. Sitting here typing this review completely tired out from my morning swim workout!

my game-changer for pool exercise
This device is so simple and so effective. I looped the one end around my poolside basketball hoop, which with water in the base is probably close to 200 pounds. The belt is comfortable while swimming and I'd say at my full freestyle stroke, gets me about 10'+ of stretch. When I get tired, I slide the belt around and do a lazy backstroke. I've been swimming much more often with this, a vast improvement over doing laps in a 20' pool which is cumbersome.

Not an Effective Way to Swim/Train
This is a difficult review because although in a sense there is nothing especially flawed about the product, I discovered after experiment that its design is fundamentally flawed, i.e. the concept of tethered swimming. The issue is that the rubber stretches, of course, while moving forward in the water, so at some point it necessarily drags you backwards. I found this regular backwards, snapping motion uncomfortable, unnatural, and unsustainable. Also it tethers to your waist causing a weight shift, pulling your legs down and making it impossible to simulate proper swimming.Perhaps problem-solving a small-pool issue in some other manner would be better, such as using a current.Again, I can't necessarily say the product fails to meet its own standard. Perhaps another person would be willing to adapt to the effects mentioned above, in which case there is nothing flawed in the product. However, you might find this review useful when considering whether this product will work as intended.

works great
my son absolutely hates it so that means its working. we bought it as a way to gain strength with flexibility and little to no joint impact. Paired with hand paddles for more resistance and do high intensity interval training for strength. total body workout that doesn't involve weights and promotes muscle confusion. we combine it with some other explosion exercises to try to help gain strength without compromising flexibilty/

Not sure if its worth the back pain
I'm a long distance swimmer shut out from the pool because of the pandemic. Though I could use this in my pool. The most I could use it for its 15 minutes. Its well built, etc., but I think its going to through my back out. I tried adjusting the belt, with no success. It does not come with any sort of instructions, at all, which may be helpful in determining proper way of using it. I have used it 3 times and I'm giving up. Now just going back and forth in my pool for 30+ minutes. Its nuts but better than ruining my back or stroke. So buyer be careful.

Schwimmen ohne Einengung🏊🏻
Der Gurt macht ein gutes Schwimmgefühl ohne Ruckeln. Augrund der Zähigkeit des Gummibandes sind gleichmäßige Schwimmbewegungen möglich. Sogar Rückenschwimmen funktioniert, also tolles Teil! Qualitativ dürfte er in Ordung sein, haben ihn zwar erst einen Sommer in Verwendung, schätze aber, dass er noch eine ganze Weile hält.

Simple, effective and perfect for a small/medium family pool.
This is one of the best things I have ever bought on Amazon. Quite apart from the premium service provided by the seller its such a simple, effective device. We have an 7m in-ground pool that was only ever used for summer swimming as its just not big enough for a decent workout. I'd looked into ways of making the pool more useful for adults - including "swimjets" etc - but these were restrictively expensive. But by clipping this bungee cord onto the middle of the leading edge of my pool cover and retracting the pool cover onto the roller (thus raising the bungee about two feet above water level) and then slipping into the Velcro belt I am able to swim and swim and swim and not go anywhere other then the deepest point in my pool. Very simple and very effective. I do feel a bit like a mouse in a wheel as I paddle away but the improved results from spending appx 20 minutes just swimming without any break are enormous. The pull from the bungee is gentle (you don't suddenly spring backwards when you stop swimming) and there is no discomfort (although those with a waist measurement above 40 inches may struggle to get the belt on - bigger belts might be available). All in all this a great product and turns a small-sized family pool into a proper place to get a decent daily workout. My only regret is that I didn't think of it first!

I have attached about 4ft from pool edge and around 10ft above ground and is way better than i expected it to be
Suprised how well this works !! Use with waterproof speaker (ÂŁ29) and a lap time app (free) and you can simulate a 25 or 50m pool suprisingly well. I have attached about 4ft from pool edge and around 10ft above ground and is way better than i expected it to be! Can genuinely now use 7.5m pool for swimming without paying a fortune for endless pool system (plus running costs).

This works pretty well. I attach it to the pool stairs ...
This works pretty well. I attach it to the pool stairs and it doesn't get in the way at all. I do find that it's much harder swimming in place than regular swimming: I assume this is because your arms have the full resistance of the water as it's not moving. The first time I had to stop for a rest after about a minute! It's got better with practice. I have to remind myself not to try to pull against the tether all the time but to take it slowly. I feel that it simulates regular swimming better if I use a pool buoy or some other buoyancy device. It's excellent for doing sprints pulling against the cord for as long as you can and taking breaks in between. All in all it's a good and cheap way to make a little home pool much more useful but I still go to the 50m public pool once per week.

Good product but he’s to tether without extra equipment
I was really excited to get this product to be able to swim in our rather small pool on holiday. I had watched a few videos of them in action and the idea is simple enough. My biggest gripe with this particular tether is the difficulty in securing it somewhere outside of the pool. It comes with a small loop on the non waist band end and this was hard to find somewhere to tether it too. I enfeebled up having to use extra rope or strapping to get it working in the end.The elasticity is good and you can swim for as long as you want in a really small pool!
