Easy to follow cookbook!
I really enjoyed reading and perusing this book! I think anyone who is looking for a new way to lose weight should get this book. I have tried many many diets in the past and I always end up failing by putting back on weight or losing motivation. However, I have learned that the best way to lose weight is through a calorie deficit that focuses on balanced, nutritional meals with lean proteins, fiber, and healthy fats. Ian Garrett writes this cookbook based on a calorie controlled plan. Each recipe includes balanced nutrients needed for your body so that weight loss can be achieved. Garrett takes the guesswork out of trying to figure out what to eat to achieve a lower calorie deficit.Chapter one discusses the importance of a positive mindset and surrounding yourself with a supportive environment. He talks about setting routines, preparing in advance, learning about balance and incorporating flexibility. At the end of the chapter is a sample 60 day plan with recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.The recipes are in Chapters 2-6. Each chapter is a recipe category. The categories are Breakfasts, Main Dishes, Vegetables & Sides, Snacks & Appetizers, and Desserts. The recipes include elevated ingredient; however, the recipes are still so simple to make. The added bonus to the recipes is the list of nutritional values at the end of the recipe, which is an essential need when keeping track of calories for a calorie deficit meal plan. All the recipes are in the same format with the name of the recipe in bold, preptime, cooking time and how many that it serves underneath the name. Then the ingredients are bulleted with the steps for the recipes after. There is a 60 day meal plan, measurement chart and chart showing the cleanliest fruits & vegetables within the book as well. There are many tasty recipes to look at and try with in the book. Definitely a great cookbook to have in the kitchen for weight loss and lifestyle changes!
