Brushes my hair better than open bristle brushes
This hair brush is great for my thinning hair. I know that it brushes more of my hair and removes the loose hair better than a more open bristled brush. Its does a great job and I also love the wooden handle.

Nice wooden/natural styling brush.
Stylemate Slick Back Hair Brush is made with a solid wold handle and soft bristles. It works great for slicking, smoothing down flyaways and basic styling, but the bristles are too soft for detangling. It is well made, easy to grip onto and doesn't pull or tug on the hair so it is very gentle. A nice little brush that works exactly how it should.

Great brush!
I love boar bristle hairbrushes. They work exceptionally well on fine hair, and are much gentler on your scalp than nylon bristles. This brush has a very nice wooden handle, and I like that it's thinner than some of the other boar bristle brushes I've tried (I personally think this makes styling easier).

Bristles are pretty soft
The bristles are too soft for this brush to actually get to the scalp, which I feel is a key purpose of a brush. It does smooth over the top of the hair, so I suppose it could be useful for post-ponytail smoothing, or for bangs.

Great brush
This brush has a quality wood body with dense boar bristles that works great. The body of the brush is curved so that it is effective over its entire length. It holds my hair well for pull backs but doesn't grab or pull.

Works well
I have very fine, thin hair. When I first tried this, I didn't feel like it was even brushing my hair. But it really works and smooths it out nicely for when I'm putting my hair up in a bun or a ponytail! As of today, the brush sells for about $10, and I feel like that's a good price!

Great smoothing brush!
I picked this up hoping for a boar bristle brush that could do a bit of everything—style my hair, tame frizz, and ideally get through to the scalp. The price was right, and I liked the simple, natural look with the wooden handle.Let’s get the expectation straight—this isn’t a detangling brush or a scalp scrubber. It’s for smoothing. Period. And for that job, it’s excellent. I used it to slick back flyaways for ponytails and buns, and it left a polished finish without pulling. What I Liked:• Perfect for smoothing flyaways and surface frizz• Gentle bristles – no tugging, ideal for sensitive scalps or fine hair• Lightweight wood handle – looks nice and feels balanced in the hand• Great for kids – no complaints about pulling or scratching• Works well paired with a little styling cream or waxWhat Could Be Better:• Bristles are too soft to reach the scalp or detangle• Doesn’t do much for thicker or coarser hair types• Some loose bristles came off early on (not unusual for boar brushes, but still)Would I recommend? Yes—but with the caveat that this is a styling/smoothing brush, not a general-purpose hairbrush. If you’re looking for a tool to get a neat ponytail, tame baby hairs, or polish the top layer of a hairstyle, it’s perfect.
