Immediate results for reactive dog
The media could not be loaded. *****1 week update*****TLDR; 6YR old rescue dog goes from being an animal-aggressive/fearful/reactive dog to a being a better citizen I can walk around the neighborhood with the Halti headcollar as a training tool.My original review was more product related and discussed pulling. Had to update because it's more incredible than I realized. My boy would either lunge aggressively, flip out in panic, or scurry away and pull hard when he would spot another animal on a walk. It has been a scary 9 months where I have often feared and dreaded taking him out because he is big and has attacked others (thankfully not too severely because I have good reflexes). He is usually good with basic obedience commands but would go into a blind rage or panic thrash and become impossible. I did a couple of weeks of giving him kibble as soon as he laid eyes on another dog. It helped a bit, but wasn't perfect because he wouldn't take the treats gently when in a tizzy. Then I got this Halti.I spent a few days correcting him for his bad attitude (tight leash, quick tug, and stern vocal correction AS SOON as he looks at another dog funny, or his posture gets stiff, or he goes into hunt mode -- shut that down, which wasn't possible with normal leash/collar corrections.) Successfully walk away for a few yards? Sit, "good boy", treat, keep going. He fought the Halti the first couple of times that he wanted to flip out, but soon realized it was a fight he would lose. Consistent and immediate corrections all week... started giving him treats and "good boys" for being more calm about walking away from dogs the next couple of days. It's amazing. I'm still careful and keep him a few yards away from other animals, but we went to the local park today at dog walk o'clock and he was amazing, I didn't even bother with treats. He's definitely getting it now: that 1) I do NOT want him to react or fixate. 2) He's not going to win fighting the Halti. 3) the other dogs are not all out to get us. 4) walk away from another reactive dog? Extra praise and good boy kibbles for being the bigger dog! (He's overweight so he can't always get treats, but I sit him down and give him affection instead sometimes, then keep walking.) He saw many dogs at the park today and did not lunge at, bark at, or whine and pull from a single one. He was a little weary of a couple but didn't freak out at all, just kept glancing at them cautiously but walked away knowing what was good for him.Anyway: 5 stars. We can live in peace now. I hope if you're a reactive dog owner who has come home in tears of frustration, that you will give this a try for your dog and believe in their best self (also beckman's dog training on youtube - very helpful if you're not sure where to start.)*****My 64lb border heeler is wearing a size 2 (he's overweight) and generally is not trash on a leash. At a distance of a few feet ahead of me, he usually won't pull AS badly as some other dogs I've had (unless he sees a cat/squirrel/dog, then he goes NUTS), but if I tried to get him to walk next to me or focus on me and find me, no luck. Just got it yesterday, that video our first walk with the headcollar and double ended leash (that I'm not sure I'm using right frankly). I used treats when putting it on. I pulled him away easily (you pull - dog listens - and gentle motions do just fine, no need to be harsh at all) or distracted him with treats when he tried to take it off mid-walk a few times. He's annoyed that it works. I love that it works. Seriously, I'm barely holding the leash and he is not pulling, so I'm amazed. I stop, he stops. We're turning together 😭.Seems comfortable enough and build seems good, too. Size 2 is perfect according to the Halti size recommendations for a cattle dog, but I did measure him just in case since he's a mix. I'm hopeful that, along with the treat conditioning I'm doing with him when he sees animals on walks, it'll help his reactivity and make walking him less stressful.

Game Changer
We got this for our rescue Greyhound that was having issues with "planting" on his walks. We would not be able to get him to move for 10/15 minutes sometimes. Pulling was a no-go as well as it would agitate him and make him growl. With some positive reinforcement and pulling on this, he does no growl and will become distracted enough to continue on his walk! Walks are easy now and he is planting less and less, so he's finally breaking the habit. This collar was a great tool in our toolbox to help him (and us) on his walks.

Great quality!
So much better than the Gentle Leaders. There is nice, soft padding over the muzzle, and it makes all the difference in the world!Great quality. I recommend watching the videos, and reading the material provided. The videos helped me the most. And I am using a lot of positive reinforcement with one of my dogs who is more apprehensive toward halters. It works!

This is one of those things that I like but I don't like, no muzzle adjustments
It's hard to know if this is going to fit your dog. The muzzle strap doesn't have an adjustment, so it is not all that easy to use. These are well made and quite durable, there is padding on the muzzle strap but it seemed to invite the dog to try to use his front paws to try to remove it. I think that the comfort was not all that great. Even when it doesn't fit well it does add to the level of control, and it does it's job.

This REALLY works!
My dog pulled every time I took him out for a walk. He is 68 pounds, and I felt like he was walking me. He doesn't like when I put the Halti on, but the results are amazing. Walking him is a pleasant experience now and he behaves so well! Amazing that such a simple change could do so much.

Sizing not consistent.
Size variance between colors. I had purchased an XSmall size (the smallest size made) Halti in black less than a year ago, and somehow I managed to misplace it, so I ordered another. While checking out I noticed there was an option in blue, so I changed my order and purchased the royal blue color. Once it was received I tried it on my dog and made adjustments to the strap. I was unable to get the new Halti to fit as snug as the older black one, which had been located shortly prior to the new one arriving (of course 🙄). I placed the two of them side by side - first to verify I had both ordered and received the correct size (I had), then to see any size difference. The new Halti was just a bit over 1" larger than the other (less than a year old) when they were both snugged down to the smallest setting. This wouldn't be a huge problem - except XSm is the smallest size Halti makes.I don't have a sewing machine and the webbing was very thick to be sewing through multiple layers. With no other options I did manage to sew through the fabric at the seams to take up some of the length and was able to fit the halti more closely to my dog's size. Even after sewing, the nose band was very loose - so I hand stitched a narrow strip of doe hide inside the noseband to fill up some of the extra length and also provide extra comfort to my dog.I did manage to solve the problem but my arthritic hands paid the price.Halti - DON'T change sizing without allowing sufficient adjustments! This is even more important at the minimum and maximum sizes available!
