We had a bout with lice not long ago and purchased this comb following a recommendation by a friend. While waiting for this comb to arrive in the mail I used the combs included in the Nix box and within an hour of combing through my daughter's incredibly thick hair, several of the teeth fell out.I was so grateful once this comb arrived. Just holding it you can tell a difference in quality. It's a heavy weight and has a much needed thumb grip on the handle for when your hands are covered in the greasy treatment solution.The teeth themselves are positioned very close together which helps ensure you get all of the nits and eggs out. There are also recessed coils around each tooth which I presume aids in securing the hair and pulling the nits out.My daughter has hair so thick it took several hours to comb through her hair the first round. I combed every day for 10 days following to ensure we didn't have a reoccurrence and I boiled the comb after each combing. The comb still looks great and the teeth are all still intact.It's an excellent comb, excellent quality, and excellent value.

I got this to use on my long hair dog that had fleas. I have a lot of fur baby’s. This product helped get to his skin layer without digging into him. First I used a de tangling brush then this comb. Works great. Gets eggs and fleas. I still had to treat them all but help with the long hair animals. Lice comes are better then flea combs on all the animals.

OK. I hate that I ever had to buy this - you hear about other people's kids getting lice...but when it's your own....I don't think a nit on the planet can survive this comb. That is, of course, if you follow ALL the instructions for home lice removal - comb a very small section at a time in order to thoroughly check all hairs.One caution: because of the grooves, this comb WILL tug at the hair and it won't feel pleasant on the person's head (OK, you may get tears and outbursts). That said, it is better to have pulled hair than to have nits hatch and subsequently have lice feed on the scalp.

This comb did exactly what I needed it to do. I am a Ex lice technician and we used the best lice combs in the business and this one works just as good. I had to remove a bad case for f lice from a friends head and yeah......5 stars all the way

Absolutely best, 100% metal construction which means it can be sterilized in boiling water or 99% Alcohol, etc. Easily held in the hand also has long Bristles with smooth edges which are gentle on the scalp. I’m going to order two more as extra backup.

Heavy duty, does not break after one use. My child getting lice was an absolute nightmare to this bug a phobe.........but this nit comb actually worked....well worth the money!

The teeth of this are fine, but the way the metal comes together at the base of the teeth creates a perfect hair-eating machine. It pulls the hair right out. So, you have to sort of comb using the tip, which works just okay.Good customer service though--after I wrote this, they emailed me, said they are updating the style, and would send me an updated one when it is ready.
