Geat for wheelchair users!
I bought this item to help me wash my teenage daughter’s hair. She has muscular dystrophy, uses a power wheelchair, and is unable to bathe independently. As she has grown, it has become more and more difficult to transfer her into the bathtub. Prior to discovering this product, we had longed for a salon-style sink in our bathroom. I was excited to discover that a portable version existed! The package arrived much sooner than expected, and I assembled the sink in minutes. I was extra-careful to securely attach the drainage hose because some other reviews mentioned it slipping off. After tightening the clamp provided for this purpose, I felt confident that it would stay in place, and it did. We tried the portable sink in our bathroom, draining it into the bathtub since we don’t have a large bucket yet, but it worked great.I adjusted the height and angle of the sink to fit around my daughter’s neck while she was reclining in her wheelchair. It has a small neck opening, and you may want to consider a different model if it will be used on a larger person, but I thought it would not be a problem for my daughter’s petite neck, and I was right.Initially, I had the angle too steep, and the sink didn’t hold enough water to be effective. Then I adjusted it to only a slight angle, and this was perfect. I purposely chose this model because it does not have a deep sink. Since my daughter requires head support, this worked very well, and she was able to rest her head on the sink and prevent too much stress on her neck. (We had previously tried to wash her hair in the kitchen sink, but I found that I could not both support her head and shampoo it at the same time.) So, again this model was the right choice for us, but a deeper sink might be more convenient for someone with head control. The neck opening of the sink is hard plastic, and naturally not very comfortable. I had anticipated this from reading other reviews and had a towel ready to cushion her neck. I hope to purchase a pool noodle for this purpose in the future, however, this could be an issue for someone with a larger neck.Overall, I am supremely pleased and satisfied with this product. I consider it a great value given the ease with which I may now wash my daughter’s hair without the hassle of transferring her into the bathtub. She gives it 2 thumbs up, and I rate it 5 stars. It may not be the right choice for everyone, but it’s perfect for us!

IT WORKS!!!
I was injured and had to close my salon. But as I was getting more mobile, I wanted totry doing hair from my one bedroom apartment. I attached a regular shampoo hose to my kitchen faucet. I hated that my clients had to lean over and shampoo their own hair. I searched YouTube on how a portable sink might work.. A woman who bought one to shampoo her kids hair! She had it set up in the bathroom with hose draining into the bathtub she used the handheld shower head and it was amazing! (She had her kids sit in a kitchen stool).I first bought the really deep one Here on Amazon. Once adjusted It was way too tall for me to shampoo. I ordered this one and it was a game changer for me. It adjusts so many ways, you can get it just right for each person. Because it is so flexible and easy to set up, their directions said you can use any chair. Well it’s true BUT, again way too high for me. I found an office chair with a vented back that was thin enough to get a person as close to the bowl as possible. I adjusted the chair so it was low As it goes thus keeping my clients shorter. This chair also leaned back just enough for my perfect Shampoo Setup! This portable salon basin is lightweight, easy to adjust and light enough to move it into a corner or closet when not in use. I love it. It was the missing link that tied everything together to be able to give my family and clients a ‘real salon experience’. ***I first tried it in my kitchen draining water into a five gallon bucket...Holy Sh*t was that a bad idea. The bucket filled so fast I had to dump out my kitchen trash to put the hose in it it but it overflowed too! All that was happening behind the basin so my client rested in the basin all relaxed enjoying a good scrub having no idea I was in complete panic mode!

It works. Not great but it works.
It's a huge improvement from the bed shampoo basin, much more comfortable and less of a mess. No more buckets! I put the hose right into the walk in shower to drain.Works well with a high back wheelchair so long as you can remove the head rest.My gripe is in construction quality. The whole thing is wobbly. If you tighten the height adjusting knob just a bit too much, you'll actually make a dent in the metal pole. (Theoretically that can happen for anything but not this easily). The neck cutout is not terribly comfortable. It actually came with a crack in the basin from the mounting screws making it leak a bit. I've contacted the manufacturer to hopefully get a replacement. *UPDATE* after reaching out, they quickly sent me a new basin and it works without leaks.

Great but works best with a low sink to drain into
This definitely works for an occasional shampoo here and there. It’s adjustable in height and the bowl tips back if needed. The only downfall for me was that my kitchen sink is higher than the bowl so draining the water was a challenge. The only way the water drains without backing up into the sink is if the hose drains DOWN only. We ended up having it drain into my shop vac and then dumped it as needed. I did have a fellow stylist who used it in her bathroom and drained it into the bathtub and it worked well. Would recommend product for sure.

This shampoo bowl is great.
I've used this for 3 years now and it's been great. Gets the job done and I've used it on many, many clients. Make sure you rinse the hose off thoroughly with hot water after you're done using this, because it can get gunked up quickly with conditioner buildup or color buildup. I place a towel at the neck for extra padding for the client. Sometimes with someone with long hair, you have to let the bowl drain a couple times, because it will fill up with water. Keep the hair clear of the drain when rinsing and it won't be a big problem. I raised it to the highest height and pump up my chair and recline it to make it comfortable for the client (I purchased a reclining styling chair for this bowl) and let it drain in my kitchen sink. When I'm done, I rinse everything off and clean out the bowl, wrap the tube up inside the bowl and place a towel over to keep the hose in. All in all, this bowl has been a life saver for me.
