Q: If I go to Alaska, are those socks keep warm?

Hi~ For many years, I was a backpacker, camper and hiker (often in Winter in Ohio), so I am well-versed in what types of socks are needed for cold weather. I would have to say that these socks would not do the job for very cold circumstances. While they are a "little" thicker, I only bought them to wear in shoes that cannot accommodate much thicker socks. If you look on Amazon under the category: "Winter Hiking Socks Women", they have many offerings that would probably better suit your needs. Good luck and Enjoy your trip to Alaska!

The tops of the socks are not tight. I have a pair of them on right now and I just reached down and pulled on them. They are very flexible. I believe you will love them!

Q: Anyone tried these for hiking? Did your feet stay dry?

My granddaughter used them this early spring in Yosemite and they were fine for some hikes, but she used pure wool hiking socks for longer, wetter hikes. It rained the whole week she was there for an ecological event.
