Delicious smell!

I have a lot of body oils that I’ve tried, and most of them are really just for purposes of improving hydration. While this one promises to do the same, I also like the skincare aspect in that the company has included a soluble vitamin C to help brighten the skin. Other notable ingredients include Ecotin to help hydrate the skin and squalane, which is really good for supporting the lipid barrier. The formula is very lightweight and does not feel heavy or greasy on the skin. It absorbs really well and quickly, so I appreciate that. I can’t really say how this does with brightening as I haven’t used it consistently and long enough to see any type of results like this.As for the scent, they were spot on when they named this “Vanilla Verve.” Though the fragrance promises hints of bergamot, green cardamom, and even Peru basalm, all I can smell is the vanilla and amber. It basically smells like a very strong vanilla cupcake. Many would have no issue with this, especially if you love vanilla. I, however, am not the biggest vanilla lover. While I appreciate the warm and sensuousness the amber and vanilla bring, I was also hoping for some spicy or even woodsy notes to help balance the sweetness. All you get is sweet, so I find myself wanting something a bit more complex.You get 4.2 ounces of body oil for $38, so I would say that it’s on the pricier side for a body oil. I’ve tried a few products from this brand already, and I’ve enjoyed them. That being said, I would probably look at some of their other products rather than necessarily purchase this again in the future. Now, if they came out with this body oil in their Crescent scent, I would purchase every single bottle. I think that’s more a reflection of the scent though not the product itself. A few more final thoughts…if you’re getting this with the sole intention of brightening or helping with hyperpigmentation, I’d say you’d be better off investing in a different product. While it’s unclear what the exact concentration of vitamin C is, I’m thinking that it’s not enough to make it worth using this product long-term for that reason only. Besides, in my experience, there are just far more effective treatments out there if that’s what you’re looking to target. Now, if you’re primarily getting it to use as a body oil and just enjoy the added benefit of having the vitamin C, then it would be more up your alley. So, just understand what it is that you really want out of this before you decide if it’s a product for you.

This Cyklar Vitamin C Body Oil is so high quality! It comes in a heavy, glass bottle. The bottle looks nice and feels luxurious. I have dry skin, and I find this product to be really moisturizing. My skin even feels hydrated the next day after I've worn the oil. It absorbs quickly and is easy to apply right after showering. Once a few minutes have passed since I applied it, I can hardly even tell I've used a body oil, which is great for me, because I don't like feeling greasy.The "Vanilla Verve" scent smells amazing. To me, it has a rich, vanilla fragrance with a noticeable amber note. I don't notice the citrus scent that is mentioned on the product page, but I agree with its description of being a warm and creamy scent. It is sweet, but not as sweet as many vanilla fragrances I have smelled. The fragrance is strong, but not overwhelming, in my opinion. If you are sensitive to smells, I imagine this could be too much for you, though. On my skin, it smells almost as strong as a light perfume for about 3-4 hours after I apply it. After about 5 hours total, however, the scent completely fades away. So, it's great to use in the evenings.I really like this product. It makes me look forward to showering just so that I can have an excuse to apply it. It's certainly a luxurious product, and it works well.

This body oil is fabulous and reminds me of Shalimar, which smells warm and soothing to me. The scent has a yummy spiciness that reminds me of cardamom, vanilla, and citrus and it has woodsy undertones that make it a pretty unisex scent. I can see people thinking it smells a little sexy but my grandmother used Shalimar so to me it is comforting. The best part about the oil is that the scent is very present without smelling overwhelming and it lingers. I'm one of those people who often gets migraine from fragrances and it's torture to sit next to someone who reeks of fragrance. The other day I could smell a delivery person's perfume lingering on my front porch for several minutes but this scent would be confined to a person and those very nearby. I'd be happy to sit for hours next to someone who used this oil in moderation. I also love that the oil is moisturizing but I wouldn't use it all over because that would be too much of a good thing. If this were advertised as a body oil, I'd say it has too much fragrance, but as a long-lasting fragrance it's wonderful.
