5.11 Tactical Skyweight Side Zip Boots, OrthoLite Insole, 100% Full Grain Leather, Style 12318

The boots do run on the small side and a bit narrow. The Tan ones do not come with the side zipper... even thought the description indicates they have a side zip. I generally wear a size 10 and I purchased a 10.5. They also make a waterproof model and those I had to purchase in an 11. I paid just under $50 for the boots and when I saw they did not have a zipper I was going to exchange them for a color with a zipper. Little did I know they more than tripled in price. I don't know what's going on with Amazons pricing, but that is just crazy. I saw them as high as $179 from the same link as I purchased mine. I decided to keep them... cant pass them up at that price, and I bought another pair in black and waterproof form shoe buy. With discounts it came to just over $100.All in all they are super comfortable, good fitting, and seem to be well made. We will see how they hold up.

A pretty comfortable boot right out of the box. They are a little bit narrow in the toe box but not bad at all for general office work while breaking them in. Once they are broke in, I doubt they will feel narrow at all and would probably be very comfortable in the field.

The shoes are great! I had 5.11’s before I got these too. 5.11’s kind of my go to for anything to do with cop work. They run small, so make sure to get about a half larger size! For example, if you’re a 7.5 in women’s, get an 8 for SURE. The 7.5 cramped the hell out of my toes. Only negative thing I can think of is they’re pretty flat-footed boots. Nothing insoles can’t fix though! They’re really lightweight too. Great shoes!

The boots are extremely light but they feel like your walking on concrete and also look like they are poorly constructed. I sent them back.

Brilliant boot, fit great right from the start. but after only a month, lost the teeth from the zippers and now always popping open.Ok, I love the boots and a huge 5.11 fan. Very disappointed that the zipper broke but 5.11 stood behind their product!

These have no side zipper and are way too tight in the toe box. I have been wearing them for two weeks and have noticed reasonable wear on these boots. I purchased these for $60 when they were on sale but would never pay anything more than that. These are the lightest boots I have ever worn but you lose durability.

The reviews that existed were mediocre; said they were too tight, uncomfortable and loud. Disclaimer - I’ve only had these boots a couple of days and I haven’t broken them in BUT the sizing was spot on as far as I can tell. I normally wear a six in men’s, 7 in women’s so I ordered the six and they fit fine. Obviously they’re still stiff as I’m still wearing them in. The orthopedic insole is very comfortable in my opinion and I didn’t feel like they were any louder than other duty boots I own are. In summary, these boots are good looking for what they are(most are very ugly imo), they’re comfy and so far I like them a lot.

I am a woman and trying to figure out the size I wore was a nightmare!! In the women's ATAC 8" side zip boot by 511 I wear an 8.5 US 41 EU. I looked on the 511 website (DO NOT use the sizing chart on Amazon, it is not the 511 sizing chart!!!!!!!) and used their sizing chart and converted my women's US 8.5 to the EU 41, then the EU 41 to the men's US 8. (EU sizes are standardized...no men versus women nonsense)For reference... in UGG boots, 511 women's ATAC 8" side zip boot, Nike Shox and Brooks tennis shoes I wear 8.5 US, in designer high heals and Old Navy flip flops and just about every other random shoe I wear a 9 US. I have somewhat wide feet.The men's 8 US size in this design is the exact same sole length as my women's 8.5 US 511 ATAC 8" side zip boot. (I put them sole to sole with the heals up against the wall....they light up near perfectly.) The only real difference is that this design is a little bit more narrow and is a little more fitted. It is my fit for this design.If you have a thick or built calf these boots will not lace up properly. They have a narrow ankle to calf area. I am guessing the company assumes that a man with size 8 feet will have sticks for legs.
