Better than expected. Very small and easy to wear all day. Simple to program. Will buy some more.

Best bang for your buck
I love these little radios. They're small, light, easy to program (Chirp), loud and last a long time on the battery. I generally only use 1 or 2 UHF freqs around home or camping, so these are great. When the battery dies on one, I put it on charge and use the 2nd one.

Programming Issues
Spent much time researching software that would recognize and allow programming. Found a list message stating similar issue that suggested using Zastone ZT-X6 software. That did work for me using a prolific cable on Win7. Chirp and WLN software will not work and give error that radio is not recognized.Great radios. Good value. Durable and have good battery life. Audio is also much better than other HTs. I use them to access my 10W AllStar Link node with coverage of about 4 miles back to node. One improvement can be to enlarge microphone hole- will improve tone and modulation.

Great radio, loud audio, super size
I love these radios. They're great for family trips or anywhere you need comms in close proximity. I easily hit several local repeaters and simplex works well too. Battery life is excellent. Included software is "meh", but free alternatives such as CHIRP work great. Audio is loud and clear, much more so than many similar radios. Scanning function is a nice bonus. Unlike some radios, you can leave the batteries in these and they won't drain right away (mine seem to last about a month). You can't beat the price. This is some serious Dick Tracy stuff; my 10-year-old self could only dream of having this kind of technology at this price. I am a licensed HAM operator so I have experience with a lot of different units. These are TOPS.

I would not recommend if you want to use dcs tones in anyway
Why did you pick this product vs others?:These work great, as long as you're not trying to use mixed tones or dcs tones. It will not work with either.

Good radio. Read for complete review including programming tips.
The radio's form factor and feel are really good. Reception-wise, I am quite impressed, it performs the same as an Icom LMR. It can also be loud without distortion. The volume knob is not as hard as I wished. The channel button is great because you really need to press for the channel to change, so no more accidental channel changes. Transmission-wise I had no means of measuring power since the antenna is non-detachable, but do not expect much at <2 Watts. Yet for occasional use and when near a repeater this radio will be plentiful. I just wished the radio came with USB-C socket to charge it, and not the old fashioned USB-Mini no longer in use. This radio in particular that I received did not come with an FCC ID label; a quick internet search reveals that this radio is supposedly Part 95 compliant per FCC ID 2AQX5KD-C1. Yet, the radio label omits the FCC ID as required in Part 95.Programming tips: this radio comes from factory with Busy Channel Lockout (BCL) enabled. If you use CHIRP or the manufacturer's programming software, the option to disable BCL is not shown. However, if you need to disable BCL, use CHIRP and instead of "WLN KD-C1" choose "Retevis RT22FRS" as proxy and you will see the BCL column and ability to disable the feature. I am quite sure CHIRP will soon correct the WLN KD-C1 menu and add BCL, but in the meanwhile here you have it.**Update** I got another extra pair and this time they came with a USB-C charging socket!

I'm a huge fan
I love these inexpensive UHF radios. I'm using for both amateur and GMRS. I am so impressed with the transmission range and the audio quality if this VERY inexpensive radio. I own 8 of these and will not hesitate to purchase more. I do recommend RT Systems software for programming, but I use RT Systems for all my radios. You will not be disappointed in these little gems. They are light weight. The battery lasts all day. Extra batteries are available and super easy to carry and to change out.
