I had my last trimmer for several years before losing the charger, then decided to buy a new trimmer than a replacement charger. The sharper cutting edge was a revelation, these wear over time but it's hard to notice as the decline is so slow. My old trimmer did cut down to a virtual zero on any scale, but these state they do not. This could be seen as a minus point but having used them for a while I can say I rarely notice. The grade guides, which you have to change by hand (my old trimmer had an LCD screen and changed them electronically when selected), are actually quite consistent when cutting the longer hairs of my beard. And you get a range of lengths available with each guide, three in all. There is another attachment available for trimming close, but I would imagine it pretty useless as the blades do not cut to the very end of their length. Approx. 0.5mm short. More expensive than some other options available but have not yet pulled at any hairs, so for me doing what it promised with a smooth consistent cut.
