How do I use these as watercolours? Can anybody help me? Thank you

You can use them in a number of different ways. 1. Dry on dry - draw with them on dry paper as plain non-watercolour pencils. 2. Dry on wet - draw with them on wet paper. 3. Wet on dry - dip the pencil in water and draw on dry paper. 4. Wet on wet - dip the pencil in water and draw on wet paper. 5. After drawing on the paper wet or dry use the supplied brush to spread the colour around. All these create different sorts of effects. Experiment to find what works best for you to acheive the result you are looking for.

Are all 72 colours different?

Yes. A very few may seem similar at first glance. But examine them under bright natural daylight at a window and you will see the differences of colour and how each broad group - reds, blues, yellows and greens - grade gradually. Remember too some related colours can look similar by pressing lighter or heavier on the pencil which you may or may not want. Different whiteness of paper can make the same colour look different. But to answer your question - yes every pencil has a different coloured lead.

is there a chart identifying the colours?

I dont know why people say this. But there is actually a chart with all the colours, at least I got it. It gives you a free paper with a design to colour and on the other side all the colours names and numbers and a little circle you can colour as well. But there is a chart when you open the box ..so i dont know
