A good one to read and reread
I taught this course recently for an advanced lay servant class. I found it to be very informative, and my students all said they loved it and will continue to reference it throughout their own service work. The amount of historical context to go with the disciplines and means of grace really have a why to the what of things.

Devotional Life in the Wesleyan Tradition
This was the text for a recent class I took. It does a good job of explaining the devotional practices of John Wesley, and relating them to our life today. I learned a lot from the book and the class, and would recommend it for United Methodists and others looking to develop their devotional life.

If you are looking for a good resource to redevelop your prayer life this book does it. It defines the types of prayers. and explains how to get back on it when you naturally leave it by the wayside.

Back to Basics
This is the best thing I've seen about Spiritual Formation. It has the potential of reforming Methodism closer to what Wesley had in mind.

Needed to replace my worn copy
I have used this book many times to teach classes. It stimulates great discussions in both the novice and experienced student.

great book and service
Book received ok. Bought this one new when a used book was received in fair condition, heavily marked up. lesson learned. Book is very good in addressing methodist practices to increase spirituality, as practiced by John Wesley and followers.
