Massive improvement over stock battery for me.
My stock battery for the D74 lasted about 6-8 hours if I was lucky. This one on the first cycle ran on scan with GPS and Bluetooth on for about 12 hours. As others have said, due to the radio's calibration for a smaller battery the indicator light will show empty for quite some time but the radio just keeps going. I'll probably store the stock battery in a drawer somewhere and get another one of these. No regrets at all.

Works...
Although the battery does what it should do.......I'm a little confused as to why the battery level indicator on the Kenwood TH-D74a shows the battery almost dead (red) but it will keep on working for awhile longer. It works fine with the original Kenwood battery, you get a true idea when the battery is going to cut off on you. With this larger battery you see red (low battery) for much-much longer than you should. However, it does work.

Works well...but...
This battery powers the radio well and charges from the Kenwood drop in charger and radio power port. However the battery pack doesn't latch to the radio as smoothly as the Kenwood factory battery. The battery also doesn't sit quiet as flush as the factory battery. But once locked in place it stays in place and works fine. I've used this brand of aftermarket batteries since the late 80s and they have all typically worked but in some form or other they aren't quite as nice as the OEM batteries.I haven't noticed any real benefit of the extra 200ma under normal use...and I didn't expect I would. But it's a fair battery for the money

Seems Great for the Price
I have only had this battery for a week or so but as of now it appears to perform as good as the OEM battery from Kenwood. I may be purchasing more in the near future.

DO NOT PURCHASE
It turns out there are a handful of ThD74 radios that this just doesn't fit on. The issue is like 1/10th or less of a mm, but it simply does not fit. They got me two times, too. I purchased once like 2.5 years ago and it did not fit. I never returned it and ate the cost. I figured they would have fixed the defective item years later --- but nope. Same issue.Others have the same problem, so it's not my radio. The product is defective and the company has reviews from others verifying -- they do nothing to fix it. That leaves me to conclude, stay away from this company. Be thankful you purchased from amazon and refunds are easy.

Hold charge well
seems like this battery holds a charge longer than the original battery. Very pleased.

Not 2000mAh
As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Not in the interest of being cheap, I purchased this battery because I had hoped it did offer a longer battery life ove the factory Kenwood battery. This was not the case in my experience. The battery fits my D74 fine and charges just fine as well. Even though this is advertised as a 2000mAh battery, it was evident after holding both in my hands that it was not. It is noticeably lighter than the Kenwood battery. Is it worth the price? I would say yes, if you consider the price of the factory D74 battery and are willing to deal with the further reduced battery life. I personally would not have bought it if I knew I wasn't going to receive the product that was advertised.

So far so good
Battery and charger received as expected, fast delivery. So far all I've done is charge it, no chance to use yet. Smaller and lighter than I expected.
