This sunblock really checks all the boxes. We love living an active water lifestyle/water-sports during the summer months and this product, has impressed me. We live in Colorado and the sun, can be intense here. This product allows me to stay outdoors longer without the harsh side effects and it goes on beautifully. I never burnt or irritated with this product. Great for cruises (reef safe) too. I actually think, it’s a fair price for what you get in return or compared too. Just overall healthier choice.

I bought your sunscreen on Amazon and wanted to give you some props. My last visit to Hawaii I had a zinc oxide lotion that even though I was happy to use a lotion that was environmentally safe, the sunscreen was thick and would not fully rub in. Previously, my family loved a sheer spray that fit all of our needs, easy on my wife’s sensitive skin, easily applied and a very light feel. Hawaiian law enlightened us about the serious harm of chemical lotions. We accepted that mineral sunscreens were necessary and a responsible action to take to preserve our reefs and ocean wildlife.Researching mineral sunscreens, we saw recommendations for products and decided to try Kokua for four reasons. Reviews claimed Kokua went on light, left little to no white sheen, nourishing for the skin and was made in Hawaii. We have found our new go to sunscreen thanks to Kokua Skin Care.Thank you for a product that protects us, protects our ocean environment and gives peace of mind on both counts.We are also happy to support a Hawaiian company. My family has many awesome memories of our trips to the islands. We had a birthday trip planned for Maui one month after the Lahaina fires. People were telling us not to go but we knew that we needed to responsibly support the people affected. On island we still were able to have our celebration while also attending fundraisers and making donations. I met a displaced elderly woman at a prominent hotel’s lobby in Wailea, as she told me of her experience, she began to cry. I held her, hugging her I told her I was sorry for her loss and let her expel her sorrow. I love this sunscreen! It works awesome on your face and your body and doesn’t cause break outs, it has great CLEAN sun protection. One of my FAVORITE things about it is it DOES NOT HAVE JOJOBA! I get irritation and weird rashes everytime I use sunscreen with it. Eveything seems to have that as their moisturizer, but this has Kukui nut and aloe! My skin stays moist and hydrated. I have used it every day for 6 years! I have even took it to Hawaii and it’s super reef safe.

Reef safe! Used on Western Caribbean cruise and no burns! Very fair skinned person here. It left a somewhat greasy and shiny appearance that took a minute to absorb. But appreciated that it was reef safe and kept safe from burns.

Just got back from the Florida Keys brown but not burnt! It was important to me to use something reef safe. While its pricey, if you use it when you are in the ocean and use somthing else while you are by the pool, you can stretch it a long way. I did not find it difficult to spread. We definitely needed it while we were snorkeling and had our backs exposed to the sun. Thank you Kokua Sun Care for making a great product.

I think that zinc particles must be based in oil to distribute the zinc particles. Most makers use too much oil to increase spreadability. Kokua uses just enough to make the cream spreadable with a bit of extra attention to dotting small amounts all over before rubbing in. The trade off for this effort is lack of that greasiness that other zinc/titanium sunscreens have. On top of that, the oils they do use are high quality and natural and smell great. I never have stinging around the eyes—again this may be partially because the cream is less greasy and “stays put.” I also very much value the reef safe formula. Some particle sizes of zinc and titanium are now known to damage reefs. The price is comparable to other high quality sunscreens, and the less fluid formula also prevents over-dispensing/over-application. It’s a wonderful product.
