Flat versus tower.
I've found the tower is better than the flat extentions. It also has USB connections which my flat extentions don't. The only negative is you can't secure it to a wall.

Cheap feeling but works well
This seems to be a great extension lead. 9 plugs and even more USB ports as well. Obviously use low power devices, this thing says it is rated for 250V 13A, so a total of 3250W.The cable storage is a neat trick, it is very handy and the cable basically just wraps around in side the bottom base. It is tough to get out, and tough to put away, but once you get the hang of how to do it, it works relatively seamlessly. It feels cheap. It doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence. The little switch on the plug wobbles. It sounds very hollow. The top part, th bit that rotates, wiggles as well. But it works. It seems safe, the plug is fused, the plugs all work. I have not plugged 9 things in, and I don't think I will, but it works. Annoyingly, the switch has a red light that is annoying at night, I hate lights on plugs, this is no exception. It is a functional and efficient use of space for an extension lead. The base has rubber set so it stays down pretty well, and whilst you can unbalance it by plugging in a large power brick on one side, I haven't had it tumble over yet.A good extension lead, and no issue for me so far after a week.

Hard to get plugs in
I had to force 2 plugs into the sockets. Felt it was dangerous so have returned.

Good vertical extension unit
On the surface, this looks to be a decent extension lead with 9 sockets, 3 USB 2.0 ports and a USB-C port. The addition of a retractable extension lead is pretty good, but that's where you begin to notice the quality lacking. To unravel the extension lead, you pull the cable out to a suitable length (max 1.8m) and then to wind it back up, simply twist the mechanism at the base, like the traditional extension boxes. I did find that it does have a tendency to snag when pulling out and wrapping up. It seems it doesn't wrap around the base neatly enough to not get caught.Power wise, the max it can take is 3250W so don't plug in an excessive amount; generally speaking you shouldn't be doing that anyway.Unfortunately, it lacks quality and feels very lightweight for what it does. The switch doesn't seem secure and the entire tower has a plastic-y, hollow feel to it. It doesn't feel sturdy and I don't have confidence in maxing out the socket usage.Ultimately, it functions as it should and condenses plugs down into a vertical unit rather than a chunky or slimline flat one. It is a decent extension lead and at £31.99 (with a 15% discount code at time of review), it's a good enough price to consider. Just don't overload it.
