I am updating my former review (left below for future reference). I was contacted by someone from Bomic, who arranged to send me a new device, complete with little metal ball in situ. I was able to return the defective device easily, by printing the UPS return label and dropping the parcel off at the local UPS store. The new device seems to work pretty well, and I am quite happy with the feel of the fabric against my skin. Now if only my neck and shoulders will relax, I'll be dancin' in the streets.So, if you can reach someone, you will get quick, efficient help, and the person who contacts you will be sympathetic and understanding of the other issues which may be going on in your life aside from any problems you may have with the Bomic neck thingy.(original review follows)I purchased this product because my chiropractor thought I would benefit from the use of a device such as this. He recommended a competitor's product, but I felt that this one looked more comfortable. The Bomic webpage and the piece of paper that came in the package with the product both say that there is supposed to be a small metal ball in the little bulb on the tubing. Somehow, this little ball is supposed to regulate how quickly the device deflates. My device does not have the little metal ball. I searched the length of the tubing as well as palpating every inch of each layer of the device, and the little ball is not there. So, I tried emailing Bomic via their website. I got no response at all, so I came to Amazon and used their system to contact the company. I described the problem (missing ball), and asked whether I should return the product or what. I got a reply telling me that I needed to use the little ball to close off the tubing once the collar was inflated, and they hope I enjoy using the product. Because I said that this reply did not answer my question, I was able to write another query. I had not heard back from Bomic until this morning, when I received an email through Amazon's system, saying that Bomic hopes I am enjoying using their product, and would I please rate it on Amazon. So, here I am.If I hold my finger over the bottom of the bulb used to inflate the collar, it does not leak. So that is how I've been using it. I cannot say I enjoy using it, as holding a finger over a hold on the end of a bulb is not a pleasant way to pass time. And it requires me to keep track of how long I've been sitting, as the device does not self-deflate if I keep my finger over the hole.The device itself is actually reasonably comfortable which surprised me as I do NOT do well with things that touch my throat. This one has a nice gap which doesn't bother my throat. The fabric the product is made of seems comfortable too. I have only had this product for two weeks, so cannot speak to how long it will last (other than it arrived with the little ball completely missing from the tubing).I would not recommend this product to a friend, based on the fact that it was defective when it arrived, and that the person who responded to my contacting the company through Amazon did not even bother to read my questions. If Bomic does not care enough to answer questions such as this, I will not be purchasing from them or recommending their products to anyone in future.I no longer react quietly and just sit in the background when I receive defective merchandise. However, I also do not see the necessity of calling names or being rude. Facts, plain and simple, are best. You have them, so you decide whether to purchase this device or not.

This works as expected and Is easy to use. The customer service from company is excellent. One of the seams came up with a leak in it and I reached out to the seller. They were quick to respond and replace the item for me.

As a chiropractor, i normally wouldn’t suggest products off amazon to my clients. However, my niece order this device for herself as she is always experiencing neck pain ever since her accident. She said it works wonders. She uses it for about 20mins or longer till she feels her neck is relaxed. Sometimes she falls asleep with it on! So I decided to order one for myself. I must say, for a fair price like this, well designed product, the material used that makes it extremely comfortable around your neck, this is a must have product if you experience neck and shoulder pain. Even if you have a bad posture and you experience some slight upper back pain, this product will do the trick! I recommended it for my clients now who experiences the same symptoms. The best feature is the removable tube. Once you fill your device with the right amount of air, you can seal the air flow by pushing the mini ball that’s inside the tube into the bulge, then remove the bottom piece just by pulling it out. Makes it portable and less ridiculous when you are using it in a public space! Also, i love the fact it is FDA approved. I wouldn’t recommended using a product that has not been approved by the FDA. If it is not approved by the FDA, it is probably not approved for a reason. Be careful! Anyways, I love this product, definitely recommended!

Seems like its ok but does not fit properely around neck.Seems to be to small so therefore doesnt fit well at all.But is giving some relief,Sure wish it was bigger around the neck or something to make it bigger so I could really tell.Needs to give measurements or something before ordering product so people would get the right size for their neck.

Somehow I injured my neck after a 9.4 mile walk on September 8th. The excruciating pain in my neck radiated down my shoulder, shoulder blade and arm and made sleeping unbearable. I had to sit up during the night and slowly move my head to try and alleviate the pain. Pain meds helped, temporarily, but I'm not a fan of popping pills, and it caused awful side effects.My friend, who is a cancer survivor and dealt with many years of neck/back/shoulder pain, recommended the Bomic Cervical Neck Traction Device. I took her advice and ordered it. Once it arrived, I used it and felt amazing to once again be pain free. I kept the device on for a long period of time and wore it throughout the day, and I was able to move freely about without the pain and sheer stiffness that I've endured since being injured.Five stars doesn't do this rating justice, I would like to give 500 stars for an awesome device that truly alleviates pain. However, once I remove the device from my neck, the pain is still very present. Clearly it works and does the job of alleviating pain.

It does stretch your neck and it cuts off your circulation during use, so you'll have to use it in intervals. However the quality is not there. After ten uses mine leaks air from the seams. At this price you can't expect anything better, but I guess now I can add one more piece of china plastic to the junk pile. I should get a refund but probably not worth the effort to return it.
