Hello, This litter is not biodegradable. Our cat litter is made of natural clay (bentonite). Biokat's natural clay litter is not compostable. The term "composting" refers to the decomposition of organic material, which does not include bentonite. However, this litter has an improving effect on the compost, so used litter (bentonite) can be used as a valuable composting aid. When worked into sandy soils, bentonite acts as a soil conditioner. However, this only refers to a maximum quantity of 5 vol. %. We advise against a general disposal on the compost. We therefore recommend disposal in the regular household waste bin. Hello, this cannot be said in general, as it always depends on many different factors. For example: How many cats use the litter tray? How often does the cat (or cats) visit the cat toilet per day? But of course your own feelings also play an important role. In principle, however, the cat toilet should be completely replaced every 4-6 weeks.
